MX V4 and PHP upload

From Cumulus MX version 3 build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since, and has recently released Cumulus MX version 4. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

MX V4 and PHP upload

Post by f4phlyer »

Mark, you’ve done a great job. I’ve currently have MX installed on rPi-5’s and one CM4 and on one Windows machine running Win11 ‘Insiders beta’ . rPi’s running Bookworm. It took me awhile to straighten out all of my bugs but everything is running great. Never gave much though to running multiple instances of MX on a single machine, wasn’t sure of where the conflict would occur but a thread identifying that the port conflict is the issue challenges me to reduce my hardware count

The instructions are the best yet. Simple, cut and paste and no glitches on the installs.

I had several issues related to poor upkeep on my web sites and so the last hurdle I worked through was the PHP upload. Prior to V4 I had not been able to get all my rPi’s to work with PHP upload. I attributed the issues to my host and also to file path issues. Alas, with the V4 beta I sorted out the issues one by one and have everything on PHP with no issues. The “latest error log” in Utils is a great addition.

As I mentioned the last hurdle was the update.php file version. I know somewhere I probably missed it but after having said “Steve you need to check the upload.php files” I finally did and that had been the problem. :bash: I guess if I had read the update notes completely I would have found something there.

So I thought it might be worth while to add a note in the instructions to update “update.php”
