Hi
Is it possible to switch off the rain reading that get sent to Weather Underground?
I nearly pulled the sensor wire out when I last changed the batteries, it sure would be nice to be able to say what you send or not.

It would be nice as I do not trust the rain readings - well we all know they are wrong!
Maybe one for the wish list.

I've got to say the WH1090 rain collector readings have been really accurate. I compare with a manual rain gauge on a daily basis. Having said that the snow breaks it as will the sub zero temperatures as the mechanism may freeze up!

WOW you must be the only one on here who gets it to work!roundtrip wrote:I've got to say the WH1090 rain collector readings have been really accurate. I compare with a manual rain gauge on a daily basis.
I find that it never measures very small amounts (small amounts just stay on the top), but is more accurate when you get a lot of rain, but I still have to set the multiplier on Cumulus to get it anywhere near the same as my rain guage.
Of course it's useless with snow, as are most rain gauges.

I also check my WH1090 with a manual rain guage and found it very accurate, not today though as there is about 2inch of snow on top of it. Alan

I agree, I am happy with mine too. I am sure it is not 100% accurate but good enough for me.
As said previously, it is not good on small amounts of rain
