hey guys . I looking to invest in a better weather station, I haven't had this Fineoffset for long but im getting a little fed up with all the hassle ... modding etc . I suppose you get for what u pay for , I just cannot understand why the screen covering the thermometer/humidity sensor was made so inadequate.
anyway enough of my rantings . .. anyone suggest a weather station for me to buy .. was looking at the Davis but don't want to buy something i regret later ,,
thanks .

From my experience, and I know many others will say the same, with a Davis you will not regret later... some say the Vue and others the VP2 if you want more and greater flexibility. Do a search for comparisons, etc.

Re: Best weather station ?
Indeed, the Vantage Pro2 Plus is probably one of the most reliable weather station for its price, fairly easy to setup (reading the instructions does help), with a good wireless range (about 1000 meters), and little maintenance. With minimum maintenance, the Vantage Pro2 Plus has probably a 10-year life expectancy.
There is also the 'junior' Vantage Vue (newer and more compact) which should also be quite reliable ... at a more affordable price.

The Davis shield is quite good, but you might find that where you are in the sunny south east a FARS will help. But I believe the difference, even on the sunniest days is only 1 or 2 degrees.
