1.8.3#510~513

Post by pinto »

Can someone check the folowing please ?

Upload only one custom file, normal templates and graphics unticked in internet settings
upload of realtime.txt

The realtime does upload, but the custom file does not
When I do a manual upload, it doesn't work, automatic doesn't work

Back to #503 now, it does the job

I have changed to 1.8.3 v513 and the files do get uploaded but to the wrong directory. It looks like they are now being put in the images directory along with the graphs.

cannot find anything there

looking at the "temp.htm" file in the Cumulus folder it isn't even processing the template file

Edit: enabled normal update, it processes the file, no upload.
disabled normal update, it processes the file, no upload

I think I stop experiments, because I may even :? Steve

This is probably the easy one. Are you specifying the correct, full, absolute destination path? Is your server IIS?

Steve,

I'm not specifying a full address but then I wasn't before and it all worked OK. When I do a manual update there is mention of changing directory to images and then it sends graph files before processing and updating the custom file. Did it process the files first in previous versions? (i.e. before it chamges to the images folder).

I agree that to specify the full address would be best but it is different to previous versions.

Thought I would let you know.

I'm confused already. You're just trying to upload an 'extra file' with the realtime box ticked?

Yes, I see what's happening. I helpfully changed the order so that any extra files would overwrite the standard ones. And the help does says that you just need to specify the path from the point at which you log in, so I've broken that, sorry. I'd forgotten that's how it was specified, I was assuming the full absolute path was given. I can either put it back as was, or change the documentation. I think I will put it back as it was.

But I think Jozef is talking about the realtime upload, so different problem?

No, I only do upload the normal realtime.txt, and an additional file every 5 minutes.
My website works on only these files
(realtime.txt and this file)

That is what I like about Cumulus, with minimal upload building a full functional website

OK, so it sounds like changing the order did break it for you somehow. How are you specifying the remote file name? And do you have anything set in the 'Directory' field?

Yes... But I've realised there's an inconsistency as it was. The realtime ftp connection just sits in the specified directory, repeatedly uploading the realtime.txt file. It also has to cope with uploading extra files. So the path in this case can't be relative to the same place as non-realtime extra files. It would keep everything much simpler if full absolute paths were always specified.

Ok, so it is the same problem.

I think I have a solution that unbreaks everything. I go back to doing the extra files before the standard files and images. I change the realtime ftp so it doesn't sit in the specified directory, it sits in the root and creates the filename from the directory plus "realtime.txt". This is then consistent for extra files for both realtime and non-realtime.

I'll upload a new build shortly.
