From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Createmissing 1.4

Post by BrunswickWeather »

I had an 18-hour internet outage on Wednesday.

All the data from Ecowitt GW1100 was saved on my raspberry running Cumulus MX but because my PC was off it was not saved on Cumulus MX on the PC. AS the data was not saved on Ecowitt web site the program could download the data.

The next day I transferred the Nov23log.txt from the rp4 to the pc. As the end of day hadn’t occurred on PC, I ran createmissing.exe. The rain from the 8th was in the Nov23log.txt but not in the dayfile.

Saved the dayfile as a backup. Started a new dayfile using createmissing ver 1.4 but most of rain was missing except for data before about November 2021. Using current data in an old version 3171 of Cumulus MX with createmissing ver 1.2 and rain was correct in the new dayfile.

Createmissing 1.3 seems to have the error also.

Attached dayfile created with 1.2 and one from 1.4.

Attached also monthly reports for October 2023 from both dayfiles and the Oct23log.txt. The dayfiles are not the same size.

I have identified several issues, most fixed, one needs more thought as your monthly log contains something unexpected!

Yes, but data was saved on my Raspberry. I kept my router on, so my local network kept working.

Mark, do you want more log files?

The update may have problems.

Checking on a current dayfile.txt runs OK as per debug.log –CreateMissing-20231220-091759.txt (there are missing days due to lack of records)

Starting with a new dayfile.txt the program stops
1. Starting all records from Feb 10- stops at the end of March 10 -CreateMissing-20231220-091859.txt and Mar10log.txt attached.
2. Starting at Sep 23 – stops at the end of November 23 - CreateMissing-20231220-123940.txt and Nov23log.txt
Also included all log files July 23 to Dec 23

I’m sure Mark will reply, but I had this problem a lot too. I did have one file with a genuine problem, the rest drove me potty (er!). Are you running the CreateMissing on the same machine? I was using my Windows PC to correct errors before moving to my live Raspberry Pi. Once I moved the function to the Pi, I didn’t have any problem, Windows and Linux files don’t seem to mix very happily despite using Notepad++ etc.
