Though I see warnings for Scotland (which is definitely indicated as being UK), nothing on Ciarán for England and Wales.
Because of Brexit I assume.
I'm guessing meteoalarm has not updated the emma_id change yet

For a bit of context - UK Met Office have been collaborating with meteoalarm for a couple of years to ensure their impact-based warnings (as opposed to threshold-based) are better integrated. The latest change is to ensure the warnings are displayed as intended on the map - before the change they were displayed on a coarse regional basis, now they will be displayed on a finer local authority basis. For example, the amber warning affecting north Devon and Cornwall will have appeared to cover the whole of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, North Somerset, Dorset (and possibly Wiltshire) on the old scheme, which would be misleading, as the amber impacts are far more localised. The new scheme should see Emma display the warnings as they are seen on the Met Office website, and others.

Starting to really kick off here in New Milton (South coast) now. Barometer dropping and the wind is picking up, raining heavily - it may not be a restful night!! Hope everyone stays safe.

AS a Scot ....

I just find your 'bad' weather as amusing....

My station is in a sheltered place ... but 80 - 95mph winds are not that uncommon up herel just a wee bit of wind to clear out the dust

that ... and I think my neighbours would complain if I put up a 100ft pole with a weather station on the top of it.

@Nossie, I’m trying to find all-time records on your website. Can’t see them.

And anemometers don’t need to be on top of a 100ft pole. 30 feet is the UKMO guidance.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

My reports are goosed at the moment - in the process of trying to get them to work (right this minute actually)

I live in a pretty sheltered area so I can't use any of my own wind data with sincerity, I have 40ft trees to the west and two story buildings to the north east and south , so i'd maybe get better data if I put it on the roof but it would still not be accurate enough to be worth it.

I only get 2 thunderstorms a year though - so there is that.

On a more serious side note, it's the gusts that get you - everyone stay safe.

45mph here.

The rain is causing havoc though. 22.8mm today. 14 consecutive rain days have brought 179mm.

Not particularly windy at the moment Burnham-on-Sea but a new low pressure record of 965.8 and still dropping.

Went from 984.9 to 965.8 in the course of 8hrs.

Well Jersey is getting battered, my station is on the north east side of the island so sheltered from the worst of the westerly wind, even so at 04:29 my wind speed peaked at 50mph. Currently at 07:21 we are getting consistent gusts in the 30 to 40mph range. This is definitely longer than the October 1987 storm which was short and powerful.

Air pressure dropped from 995 hPa at 14:00 on 1 November to 965 hPa at 02:00 on 2 November and is currently rising slowly so maybe this part of the storm is passing through.

Yesterday the total rain was 18mm and today currently at 16mm. Also around midnight last night we had a heavy thunderstorm

Think we are in the centre of the system (Nottingham). Yes its raining but winds currently very light at 2mph NE.

As the low moves off I think it will get more lively.

New low pressure record of 956.6hPa, but wind is still not that bad. Rain is quite high at .62in since midnight.

@AndyKF650 : The pressure was cut off at a minimum.
That must be a device problem. No?
