This time last year (19th July) we here at Calverton (Notts) UK, recorded our hottest day at 40.2c.
What a contrast, as today we have been mainly cloudy with some light rain showers and a maximum of just 20.3c.☂
Whilst it is very warm/ hot in many european contries, I quite like these cooler conditions.

38.7°C on this day in 2022. It remains my all-time record.
A very pleasant 20.8°C today. Don’t you just love British weather.
Just as Forrest Gump says “Weather is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.

Many years ago, yes. Not now though.RayProudfoot wrote: ↑Wed 19 Jul 2023 8:37 pm Just as Forrest Gump says “Weather is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.
It's become boring as blocking patterns have become more prevalent.
The jet stream being buckled has left the UK in a trough for the entire month, with no real signs of improvements.
Spring was horrendously cloudy with a nagging easterly wind. It's either very wet and cloudy, or bone dry and very cloudy. June has been the only exception this year.
As a weather enthusiast, I find our weather has become increasingly boring.
