WH1080 not detecting rain

My WH1080 is not reporting any rainfall.

I've reset the everything and tried a spare rainfall sensor but still nothing. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a fault with the connection to the transmitter unit, have you checked the metal contacts in the RJ45 plug. Maplin's went into administration in 2018 so most of these units must be at least 5 years old which is pretty good for the cheaper variety of weather stations. Take a look at Ecowitt stations sold on Amazon.

I had a quick look when I tried the backup rain collector but will check better.

Interestingly, when I reset the batteries in everything, the pressure did something odd too

Those old fine offset stations often lose or did weird things with their pressure calibration when they are power reset. I have an old 1080 I use for testing that needs a massive offset applying to it now.

Indeed they do. I ran wh1080 for over 10 years, and in every console reset the pressure values jumped randomly up or down, sometimes almost a 100 hPa was needed.

When I was having similar problems and wanted to check that the bucket tips were detectable at the transmitter, I used an RJ11 telephone extension cable (plug cut off and wires bared) and a multimeter with continuity testing capability. So swapping the rain cable from the transmitter to the RJ11 socket and slowly pouring water into the rain gauge, each tip will make a brief chirp if all is well.
Might need a person at each end if the cable is long

I can't see any corrosion or anything either on the plug or socket and tried it with a spare rainfall sensor too
