Pretty spectacular indeed.
I was already waiting for a post on this announced event.

And it will eventually impact on our weather in the next week as the increased power in the jet stream makes its way across the pond. Another release of polar air southwards seems likely but not as severe as last week.
Imagine Daily Express headlines if it was an American newspaper.

What is to the west usually comes east to us, but hopefully not as severe

Just waiting and see if our Christmas travel to Toronto will be possible.
Enjoy,

Nice temp drop though not as big as in Cheyenne.
But the diff in the webcam from yesterday to today is telling the tale : The fallen over containers !

Not as severe as predicted as it is coming to us from the south west
http://komokaweather.com/komokaweather-ca2/index.php and not north west.
Some early morning rain but things changed around 5:00 am when the temperature drop started and winds increased
https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IONTARIO226. Only 4 cm snow accumulation at my 8:00 am CoCoRaHS reading, and light snow continues. Not a lot of snow but enough to cause some heavy drifting on the roads and poor visibility. I expect the snow blower to get a good workout later on.
Quite pretty right now...

The fallen over containers
Yes, waste-pickup-day today and bins flipping over from the gusts, but the trucks are able to make their rounds.
Enjoy,
Paul

Our temp drop here in NE Ohio. Winds producing windchills of below -20 F and blowing snow. House is popping a bit.

So that is some 30 F to -5 F in 12 hrs.
Nice, not bad and pretty cold but not record steep. I assume lots of wind and snow as well?

recent-data-select-a-cha.png
High Temperature 41.2 °F at 02:02
Low Temperature -2.4 °F at 12:20
Temperature Range 43.6 °F
North East Ohio, (east of Cleveland) we didn't get a lot of snow something like 8-16" I think so hard to tell with the winds blowing it around and drifting.
