Re: Looks like we're in for another hot week down under
heh Phil. why dont we do an average and get some decent wx.
with your 36 and my -10 we could do a really nice 'warm' Liverpool summer day @ 26
That, of course, would only be 35s around 1800, then it would be back to normal @ 15.
HNY mate and watch out for the forest fires !!

They're now predicting 43c (109F) tomorrow and the next day, so that sounds like a great plan to me, Phil!!

45.9C max? Still 40.3C at 8pm? That's just crazy! I guess the low humidity helps a bit, but still...

Re: Looks like we're in for another hot week down under
Just got under the ton in the old language.
Good thing is that there have not been any serious fires in Victoria or South Australia. (Not like last year, that was really scary)
We still have tomorrow morning to go before any change here in Victoria expected about noon in melbourne.
(Could skate on it at your place I guess)
Hey, I reckon having the whole UK covered in snow is a little crazy too!
What's happening to our planet.........
Gerard

Yep we dodged another bullet today and the change is about to hit here. There's only one fire still not under control, but all others were contained quite fast. Hope its all good for you over there tomorrow!
EDIT: cancel that the last level 2 fire is now contained. Phew!

Re: Looks like we're in for another hot week down under
Yes Phil, I guess both our states got away with murder today. It's not over yet, another 2 months or so to go.
I was chatting to a collegue today at Paralowie about lunch time and he said you had a wicked dust storm there.
Did it affect you?
Anyhow, you can see the fire summary for Victoria here:
http://cfa.vic.gov.au/incidents/incident_summary.htm
The other day they nabbed 2 fire bugs, well let's call them arsonists, while trying to light fires in the scrub.
Maybe that made the difference here in Vic. They have the b@st@rds locked up, as they were refused bail.
Let me know what the change feels like, I'll get it 24 hours after you do. (Looking forward to it)
It's starting to cool down a little here, still going to be a warm night though.
Cheers
Gerard.

Re: Looks like we're in for another hot week down under
Yep you're right Gerard and typically Feb is the worst month. No the dust storm didn't affect me, its not as dry up here in the hills as it would be at Paralowie.
Hopefully they throw away the key for those arsonists. They suspect a large percent of the fires here were deliberately lit!!
The cool change feels great!! It s the first time my rain gauge has been tested. At the time of writing this my manual rain gauge shows 6.6mm and my auto shown 7.5, so I need to tweek my calibration.
EDIT: changed my calibration from .33 to .3 and it's almost spot on!

Hi Phil
It looks like the temp in SA has dropped (going by your banner)???
Our temps in Sydney have also been a wee bit extreme, but were expecting a cool change maybe tomorrow
Keep safe you and your mates do a brilliant job
Cheers
