Aurora Live now, so happy with the new Weather Webcam, she captures it better than any I have owned in the past.
Attached last 3 hour Time-Lapse.

My Aurora Australis (or Southern Aurora) Australian Space Weather Forecasting Center’s (BoM) Api page works well too. The last project Beteljuice and I worked on before he passed away. Sadly I ended up completing it myself.

Stunning Tony, that camera is capturing the stars very well, is that still the 4K HKVision High Resolution Bullet?

Hi Mark,
Yes the most recent one I purchased last year to replace the original 4K HKVision.
The Camera we Use is a : 4 K ColorVu ( Low-Light ) Fixed Bullet Network Camera by hikvision.com.
Hikvision DS-2CD2T87G2-L 4K 8MP Gen2 ColorVu Bullet Camera with Acusense 60m White LED 2.8mm
High quality ( Low-Light ) imaging, 2.8 mm: horizontal FOV102°, vertical FOV 52°, diagonal FOV 124°

If it had been facing South, it would have been epic, sadly I can't justify a second camera to face South in the event it may capture and Aurora.

I was waiting for the day you captured the Aurora! Very nice Tony.

The Hikvision camera (DS-2CD2087G2-LU) is the best I have ever owned, particularly for clear skies.

Cheers Matey,
Yeah I was chuffed too. Yeah definitely best Cam I've had too.
Been slack too, don't always check the Time-Lapse's (so could have missed others in the past.

Hi,
Just an update, I suppose mainly for Mark and Tina.
I was so chuffed with the capture of the above event, that I realized it could have been so much better.
By that I am referring to the Capture Rate I use, normally I use 30 second capture (to store files on my Haydes Nuc for later creating Time-Lapse - be that last 3 hours or SunRise or SunSet or 24hr Day) and upload every one minute just for website display image.
So I have now changed that to 5 second Capture (in order to enhance the Time-Lapse visual quality especially in the event of an Aurora), obviously this increases the size of the files, thought after testing I see not much difference in local creation time or upload to server time difference. As my scripts also auto delete last seven days captured and I have a 2 TB drive local there have been now issues so far. I am so looking forward to the next Auroral event (well I say with a double edged sord, as I hate the reason Auroras occur in the first place including their potential destructive possibilities on mother earth, though like most of us on the planet enjoy the visual effect they produce to make us happy.
Will see how the next one pans out.
Kindest Regards,
