WLL VP2 and 3.9.1 (build 3096)

Post by Lonski »

Having issues when trying to run the new build 3.9.1 (build 3096) on my VP2 with WLL. From the debug log, CumulusMX is not communicating with the WLL box. I dont have a console just the WLL box.

From the update notes it says new JSON libraries are used and there maybe issues.

Any ideas?

CumulusMX v3.9.0 was working ok with my WLL. Now updated to v3.9.1 and CMX is still working fine http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmxwll/index.htm
Do you have all the settings correct?
TCP/IP Settings -WLL IP address
Davis Weatherlink Live - API keys, Device ID, Primary stations

Enjoy,
Paul

Yes, all is the same as it was on 3.9.1 (build 3095) but going to the latest 3.9.1 (build 3096) it does not receive data from the WLL.

All sorted...

Had to start from scratch again :( So many setting had to be put back manually.

All the settings are in Cumulus.ini, couldn't you just copy that back?

Is your WLL configured with a reserved IP address on your router?

Yes it is. DHCP links an address to the MAC address of the WLL, but I also set it manually (the same one) when setting up the WLL via the android app initially. I doubt that the network settings I am using was the fault here, as the WLL was successfully talking to Davis.

I also rolled back to a backup of the cumulus folder I took prior to the new update, that worked fine. It just didn't like being updated with the new files. Maybe I had a corruption somewhere.

I then installed the new files on this own, but used the ini, but it still didn't connect to my WLL. That's when I did a fresh install with a non configured ini, and added all my settings back manually. That worked.

Sorry, I only just took a detailed look at the diags file you posted.

The error in there was a missing DLL file from the zip - "System.Runtime.CompilerServices.Unsafe.dll"

Hmmm. I did check all the new and changed files you listed in the new zip, and confirmed they were all there as expected several times over.

Doesn't matter now.. its working again ;)

That's why it is always best to copy the entire contents of the zip - you or I may miss a file in the change list.
