After nearly 2 years, my Fine Offset 1080 has given up the ghost (both wind and rain gauges are no longer working). Would anyone recommend the Oregon WMR89 as a replacement? It's currently on offer at Clas Ohlson

I don’t know much about the WMR89, but one thing I do know is that it doesn’t work with Cumulus, if that matters to you.

Re: Oregon WMR89
Hi,
The wind and rain sensors are available from Maplin at quite reasonable prices and are all compatible. However their (434MHz) transmitter is out-of-stock and wouldn't support the (inessential) Radio Clock of the 1080.
Clas Ohlson also have the latest (blue backlight) version of the 1080 at £10 less than the WMR89, and should at least be covered by their 2 year warranty. Maybe they will also put that on Offer again sometime. Note that the Clas Ohlson uses 868 MHz so the transmissions wouldn't be compatible with a 434 MHz version (if that's what your current 1080 uses).
Cheers, Alan.

Re: Oregon WMR89
Hi,
Unfortunately, the product is discontinued. Perhaps, I'll need to look somewhere else, as I was thinking about WMR89 as well. However, some space parts are still available (rain gauge and wind sensor). Too bad it doesn’t work with Cumulus.

Hello guys,
I didn't know much about how cumulus supports Oregon WMR89. I have also done an analysis on Oregon WMR89 and there's a different from the last one. I want to know that is cumulus support scientific Oregon? Can I use this for my station?
