Hi Neil,
I believe the issue is now solved. My attempts at responsive fonts was to blame and this has now been improved. :bash: Would appreciate feedback.
Windows 8 PC - 22" monitor
IE10 can't display (understandable with this old IE)
FF Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted
Chrome Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted
Opera Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted

Windows 10 PC - 22" monitor
Edge Today/Yesterday - all looks excellent!
FF Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted
Chrome Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted

Windows 10 Lenovo laptop 15"
Edge Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted
FF Today/Yesterday - all looks excellent!
Chrome Today/Yesterday - all looks excellent!

Windows 11 Lenovo Laptop 15"
Edge Today/Yesterday - Rainfall is displayed distorted
No other browser on this device.

So on my devices;
Edge is fine on 1, and distorted on 2
FF is fine on 1, and distorted on 2
Chrome is fine on 1, and distorted on 2
so no pattern...

Enjoy,
Paul

Did you force-refresh or clear your cache or use an incognito tab to rule out caching of old versions of the page and its resources?

 I did refresh each time and the data timestamp was current, but did not try New Inprivate Window :bash: Doing that made it display correctly. Sorry for causing unnecessary nuisance.

Enjoy,

Hi Paul.

No problem. I’m glad it all works correctly. It was useful for me as it forced me to to rethink the fonts which always jumped about on screen resizing anyway. I can now implement those changes on the AI.

Neil.

Re: Reworked default websites

Hi everyone

I am now reasonably happy with the alternative default site I have created for CumulusMX and am going to make it available to download. I would like to do this through the Wiki (which I can edit) but am not sure where it would be best to put it. If any of the moderators can point me to a suitable location, or better still set up a blank page with the appropriate links I will be happy to edit it.

In the meantime here is a link to download it.
DefaultSiteV3.zip
This zip contains two files, a readme pdf and a second zip containing the site. It is safe to upload directly to your public site if you wish but it will go 'live' instantly. You may wish to preview it if you have a local web server available. This will also give you the opportunity to edit the 'page-manager.js' script which is explained in the readme file.

I have provided a small number of additional themes specifically for this site (they don't work with any other and neither will others work with this site unless modified).

Enjoy.

Neil

You could create a section in the Software page. Do you have a github repo you could link to rather than having the zip files hosted on the wiki server?

Hi Neil,

I just loaded up the new website and the logo at the top of each page is not displaying. In the code it shows -

Code: Select all

<img src="/images/logo.png" class="w3-image cmx-logo" alt="CumulusMX logo">
This is causing it to look for an image folder one level up from where the web pages are located. If I remove the leading slash and change it to -

Code: Select all

<img src="images/logo.png" class="w3-image cmx-logo" alt="CumulusMX logo">
then logo is displayed correctly.

Regards,
Trevor

Hi Neil,

Also noticed that the Lowest Apparent Temperature in All Time Records is showing "undefined" for the time and date. The code shows -

Code: Select all

<span data-cmxdata="YapptempL"></span>
It should be "TapptempL".

Regards,
Trevor

Hi Trevor

Thanks for pointing this out. Actually, using this URL its looking for the image in a subfolder off the site root. A more complete URL would be:

Code: Select all

<img src="./images/logo.png" ...
Anyway, the latest zip file will have the correction in it.

Re: Reworked default websites

Hi Neill,
Must be a bad day, just like the weather...
I haven't yet figured how to upload the template files.
After I download the DefaultSiteV3b.zip to my local PC, and unzip in the usual way it creates a CMXDefaultSiteV3.zip.
In this new CMXDefaultSiteV3.zip I can see the 3 folders and the 13 .html files and can open them in Notepad++
However when with FileZilla I try to upload to my website the CMXDefaultSiteV3.zip does not open on the Local side so can't see the content therefore can't upload the extracted files and folders. I've uploaded the new CMXDefaultSiteV3.zip but don't see how that can work or know what to do next.

What am I missing?

Enjoy,
Paul

You need to extract the second zip file CMXDefaultSiteV3.zip again, and upload those files. It is a .zip file within a .zip file, fooled me at first so you are not alone!! :D :D :D :D
