Wind rose information
I would like to know a little more about how the wind rose is constructed. Over what time period (or number of data points) is it calculated? Also what is the nature of the radial axis - it doesn't seem to be simply the frequency of the wind direction over the previous period as far as I can tell? Does it include strength too, and if so what is the algorithm? My searches on the forum and wiki have drawn blanks.

Re: Wind rose information
It uses the <#WindRoseData> web tag which contains the last 3600 wind speed readings (or less depending on when Cumulus was last started) summed according to the corresponding compass position (i.e. 16 totals).
You can see the raw data in the processed realtimegauges.txt file, e.g. mine is currently
"WindRoseData":[0,0,0,0,0,42,1260,13767,52024,15017,2118,146,0,0,0,0],
and the result is this:
