Re: Which weather station on a budget. These are two
Hi,
I have been looking at upgrading to a weather station that measures UV and have discounted the Ventus model as it won't link to Cumulus. The WS 3083 looks an attractive option and appears to be the same price on either Amazon or Ebay.
Hope this helps.
regards, Tim

Re: Which weather station on a budget. These are two
Hi,
Welcome to the forum both of you.
Yes, one of the Fine Offset (manufacturer) stations is probably the "best" available around that price point. IMHO, £110 (typical in UK) for the WH-308x is rather over-priced, but it seems that many of our retailers have been "stung" by high warranty costs in the past. It has been seen for the equivalent of around £50 in Australia.
The (numerous) "issues" with the WH-308x have been well documented on this forum in the past. My advice is to ensure that you buy from a reputable retailer who will give good after-sales support, if required. And use a little of your budget to purchase a better USB cable, an extension cable/mounting for the "Solar Pod" (requires some DIY effort) and ideally a proper "Sun Shield". Oh, and send a donation to Steve for Cumulus.
Cheers, Alan.
