Re: Webcam links
Mark and Vaggos thanks for the input.
I've read halve the internet for making batches under windows to make time lapse movies, for how to convert a bunch of jpg files to mp4 h264 codec bit still no luck ffmpeg seems to be the solution but some paramaters are for unix only.
mp4/h264 is supported on most internet devices, Flash is coming to an end, my Nexus 10 with androd 4.3 doesnt support it, its time for the html5 video standard that is supported bij al new browsers. I use the javascript jpg update its some slower but can be read on most devices, even my Windows Phone Sotware is yawcam that only provides movie output to mov unfortanally.
So now looking for iTesters
Thanks
Ron

Re: Webcam links
My Raspberry PI camera is now iin operation and updating Weather Underground.
I still have a few tweaks to make such as overlaying some text on the image and perhaps changing the FOV slightly.

Re: Webcam links
Thanks Bob,
Lucky to have a nice tall shed to mount the camera on, the roof of the house is just visible at lower right.
Now if I could just do something about those power lines...
Regards
Geoff

Re: Webcam links
Hi All,
Hope things are well.
Over the last year I've been uploading my webcam image to Weather Underground and just sort of left it at that. But over the last couple of months the playback and storage has been less than stellar and I wanted a little more for folks to look at. Not knocking WU, storage and maintenance for that many photos and videos takes a commitment and maybe that was lost when The Weather Channel bought them out.
Anyways, I treated myself to a small Christmas bonus this year and purchased Sebectec Software and with the unusually cold Winter this year(-20.9 F this morning) I've taken some time to set it up on my site.
The cam is a BL-C140A from Panasonic located under the eave of my home looking over my backyard here in the valley. The software puts the current info on the pic and uploads it to my site. Then every hour, it takes the picks from the current day and makes an 'Intraday' video and uploads it to the site. The software also uploads the current 'thumbnail' image that I have on my homepage.
Since I have no lights in the back yard I only take pics during the day but I have the past seven days videos linked on the page. This is accomplished by a couple of small php scripts run by cron. The one script runs each day around 1pm and copies the current image.jpg and renames it for the day, say Tue.jpg Then at 9pm each evening, cron runs another script that copies and renames the latest intraday video to Tue.mp4 So when you click on a link to one of the days from the last week, you see the 1pm photo for that day and click on it to view the video for that day. It's actually pretty simple but just wanted to have something to look at incase folks came by the site when it's dark.
Anyways, if you have time to click the image and have a look all comments and critiques would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brad

Re: Webcam links
The camera is a Logitech C920 with a -2 diopter (the "Hubble Fix") installed in front of the camera lens. It is housed in a pvc security camera housing and is connected via a 10m active USB extender. Updates are every 25 seconds via ftp but visitors have to refresh the page/image to see the updates.
Here is a captured image from earlier this evening:
Below is a link to some pictures taken during the recent ice storm that hit the southeast USA. Most of these were taken with my dslr but there are a few webcam images of the downtown area during the height of the sleet/snow storm (I was about 6 miles away at home!). The storm was an oddity for us...an inch or more of sleet covered with a thin layer of snow...SLICK!!! http://www.beeweather.com/wxicestorm012814.php
