An observation rather than a problem.
I have "Never allow websites to request your physical location" ticked in Tools/Internet options (IE 9)
Whenever I visit a website with the steel series gauges on it, I get a little blue circle with a diagonal across it on the right hand side of the top bar alongside the Home, Favorites and Tools icons. No gauges appear on the page.
I have to click on the blue circle, then "Turn off tracking protection" in the drop down box and the gauges then appear.
What is in the scrip in the gauges code that is requesting my location?
Regards
Dave

Nothing in the script uses any location services. I just set that option in my copy of IE9 and my gauges pages still display OK

Re: Steel Series, IE9, Tracking protection
Hi Mark,
It happens to all pages which have the Steel Series gauges the first time I visit. Thereafter the gauges show every time I re-visit.
Try mine http://home.btconnect.com/CholseyWeathe ... ges-ss.htm
This "feature" also happens whenever I go to a page that has any sort of map on it.
regards
Dave

I think that "Never allow websites to request your physical location" is not the same thing as "Tracking protection", which is about tracking your movements across the web (using cookies, presumably) rather than your physical location.

Re: Steel Series, IE9, Tracking protection
Hi Steve,
Hope you are better.
OK, I have both "Tracking Protection" (Tools/Safety/Tracking Protection) and "Never allow ......" turned on. The Tracking Protection is the one that is preventing the gauges from showing. I can't remember turning it on.
As I mentioned in my first post it is a minor annoyance, so don't bust a gut trying to work it out.
Regards,
Dave

Re: Steel Series, IE9, Tracking protection
It is the tracking protection that is causing it, I had that disabled. It blocks the download of jquery...
I only see this on your gauges page, not mine - I load jquery directly from my own server rather than Google, so strange you see it fail on my site as well.
Which seems a bit harsh, half the internet must use jquery somewhere or other.SEC7114: A download in this page was blocked by Tracking Protection.

Re: Steel Series, IE9, Tracking protection
Thanks Mark,
It only fails the first time you visit a site. If you turn off tracking protection for that particular site, you can visit many times without the problem. I guess IE is making a list somewhere of the sites you have visited and turned off the tracking protection.
I don't remember if your site ever caused the problem. I visit it often to follow the development of the gauges series
Cheers.
