Not sure where to ask this but since you are a helpful bunch and not seen another forum for these weather stations
Does the rain gauge only work on 0.3mm steps? And if so is there a way to make it 0.1mm steps? or should I shut up and be happy with 0.3mm as it is a cheapo unit
Cheers
Mark

Re: Rain
Yes, it's 0.3mm on Fine Offset stations. To make it register every 0.1mm, you 'simply' need to increase the cross-sectional area of the rain collector by a factor of three (by sticking some sort of funnel on top of it), and then put a multiplier of 0.33333333333 or so into Cumulus. I'm not sure how accurate you'd be able to get it (but you could calibrate it and adjust the multiplier a bit).
I did this with my Oregon Scientific station, which only recorded 1mm increments. I worked out that an 8 inch (20 cm) funnel, increased the area by four, so I was then measuring in 0.25mm increments.
