Today (13th Feb 2010) we hit 100,000 pages read on the Wiki and incredibly it was exactly six months to the day since we launched on 13 Aug 2009

Here are a few statistics on how it has been so far.....

30,869 unique visits reading 100,000 pages

Top operating systems used
  • Windows XP, 58%
  • Windows NT, 15%
  • Windows Vista/7, 15%
  • Mac 3.7%
  • Linux 2%
Top browsers
  • Firefox, 33%
  • Internet Explorer 6, 23%
  • Internet Explorer 8, 22%
  • Internet Explorer 7, 7%
  • Chrome, 5%
  • Safari, 3%
  • Opera, 1%
The observation here is that 23% of you are still on IE6 and need to upgrade -- IE6 is a terrible browser, even Microsoft admit it. LOL

Top 10 Countries
  • UK, 23%
  • USA, 19%
  • Canada, 13%
  • Australia, 6%
  • Sweden, 3%
  • Netherlands, 3%
  • France, 3%
  • Germany, 2%
  • Spain, 2%
  • Norway, 2%

The most popular pages
Excluding the main page...
  • FAQ with 15,476 hits
  • Cumulus 2 screen shots
  • Webtags
  • Sidebar Gadget
  • Supported devices
All pages have a similar hit rate of a few thousand, except the FAQ which is by far the most read page

Top search keywords
Google is by far the most popular search engine used to access the site with 89% of all searches. The top keywords are..
  • cumulus realtime.txt
  • icumulus
  • wxnow.txt
  • realtime.txt
  • cumulus 2
  • sandaysoft
  • rain measurement
  • cumulus webtags
  • sandaysoft cumulus
  • cumulus wiki
Visiting observations

Most people stay for between 2 and 10 minutes (30 second tolerance); although 3,296 visitors spent under 1 minute! Fast readers

The most popular days on the Wiki .....
  • Sunday
  • Tuesday
  • Saturday
  • Monday
  • Wednesday
  • Thursday
  • Friday
(there is actually little in the numbers here and most days have an equal spread)

12% between 3pm and 5pm (UK time)
10% visit between 8am and 10am (UK time)

The Top referrer

No great surprise that nearly all referrers came from the forum. (Referrers are pages with a link to the Wiki that people have then clicked). Excluding all the forum links, our most common referrer was...

http://www.hetweeractueel.nl to the Dutch translation of the web templates

Thanks for the stats, Daj. Interesting how few mac users there are. Nice to see the wiki being utilized.

Is that a reflection of how good the wiki is ....... or a measure of peoples confusion 8-)

Me too.....well IE6 users get a stark warning when they visit my site.....

Not that my site really works in IE6 anyway....as you can see...

Warning Code is available for those who want it...

This is what greets any IE6 or IE5 or IE4 user.......
