Nexus 35.1075 v. Maplin N96FY

Post by lds »

I was going to replace my WS2300 with a Nexus 35.1075 but it is not supported by Cumulus, is this still the case? The reason for getting a new station is to use my new Packard Bell imax PC which does not have a serial port.
My next choice is the Maplin N96FY, my question about this and indeed any other USB station, is will it/they work with Windows 7 64 bit OS which is what came with imax. The reason I ask is because I have a Topfield PVR which I cannot connect to my imax as there are no 64 bit USB drivers for it and I wondered if this will be the case with weather stations.
Many thanks,Laurie

It looks unlikely that the TFA/Honeywell etc stations will ever be supported. They did reply to my request for the protocol details, saying they would forward it to the relevant place, but I didn't hear anything after that.

The Fine Offset machines like the Maplin one you mention work fine with Windows 7 x64.

Thank you for your reply. It's a shame you are unable to support the 35.1075 as a quite like the sensors all having independant wireless links. Do you know of any stations which you support with this feature?
Cheers, Laurie.

The Oregon Scientific WMR-928 (and 968 etc) has that feature. It's not manufactured any more, though, and has the disadvantage of not having a logger.

Thank you.
I have found 2 weather stations whilst looking for the WMR-928 and I wonder if you are able to confirm if they will work with Cumulus.

The first is a new product WS2800 http://www.ukweathershop.co.uk/acatalog ... S2800.html

and ProX2 http://www.ukweathershop.co.uk/acatalog ... ProX2.html

Many thanks.
Cheers, Laurie.

No, neither of those. Supported devices are listed here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Supported_Devices

In addition, there are a number of other rebadged Fine Offset stations that aren't named explicitly in the list, but they will always look like Fine Offset stations, ie:
