What is current Cumullus version

Post by aznetcowboy »

I have fallen behind in my updates due to 2 moves and then taking too much time in getting my system back online. Having updated my hardware has helped. The Cumulus version I am currently running I'm sure is probably very outdated. It is version 1.9.4-b1096. How far outdated is this version? And how can I be brought back inline to the current version???

I know the most obvious thing I have noticed are the weather alerts are not working. This is what really alerted me to the fact my move from Arizona in 2019 and not being able to get back online for months before the landlord allowed me to set up my station on the balcony. That was the first move.

Then we moved again in 2023. Now I have my station set up on our deck. But I was noticing my rain readings were not correct. After doing an equipment update from Davis Instruments and getting readings I expected, I am ready to get my software up-to-date. What and probably how do I get my Cumulus software up-to-date?

Hi,
For your Cumulus version 1, the 2014 version 1.9.4 b1099 released in 2014 is the latest https://www.cumuluswiki.org/a/Software#Legacy_releases
and you would also need the 1099.2 patch to overcome the maximum year 2020 in the reports with version 1.

Cumulus v1 is no longer maintained but still works fine as it has in the past. The current Cumulus development is version 3 known as CumulusMX https://www.cumuluswiki.org/a/Software# ... n_download
and now on a new version 4 CumulusMX which is in public beta viewtopic.php?t=17887 but will be released as an out-of-beta version soon.

Enjoy,
Paul

The Saratoga templates work with both the old Cumulus 1.x and with the current CumulusMX software. Changing to CumulusMX is fairly easy, and you can find download and instructions in the Wiki.

The NWS changed alerting and alerts.weather.gov, so updates to nws-alerts script set were needed (and deprecation of atom-advisory and atom-top-warning scripts). You'll need changes to your index.php page (see the updated wxindex.php for the code used).

Yes, update check-fetch-times.php from https://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplate ... p?sce=view and upload to your site.
Then run check-fetch-times.php?show=versions to see what needs updating to current version.

Do include a URL to your current website so we can assist as needed.
