I have three sites running v3 and one running v4 beta.
The one running v4 is behaving perfectly and I am tempted to move all the v3 sites to v4 but is it best to wait???

I personally would go as soon as possivle as in my opinion this is a better version than V3 and more reliable.
I have converted all three of my sites.

Re: How long before v4 is out of beta?
Hi,
I think v4 is very stable but would suggest not to rush on out of beta version release. Since it went to public beta 03/17 there have been 229 github downloads in 8 days (which is veeery good), but compared to latest v3 released on 03/21 which has 429 downloads in 4 days so still quite a number may be a little hesitant. The usual new version downloads averages about 66 for the first 8 days.
Enjoy,
Paul

Re: How long before v4 is out of beta?
The nr of users in a few days is higher than I would have thought and no complaints so far (apart from an old machine in Poland ). Anyway, Mark has indicated that CMXv3 remains supported for some time so if he is confident making v4 final would not hurt anybody and would send the message out that ultimately people have to move. No way back.PaulMy wrote: ↑Mon 25 Mar 2024 4:25 pm I think v4 is very stable but would suggest not to rush on out of beta version release. NOTE: I see no communication errors anymore.
I myself threw away all things related to CMXv3, including mono. God I hate that piece of code. Nothing but trouble. So, I said it

Totally agree Hans, .NET V8 a much better option resulting in a better and more stable version of CumulusMX. Mark is to be congratulated.HansR wrote: ↑Mon 25 Mar 2024 5:21 pmThe nr of users in a few days is higher than I would have thought and no complaints so far (apart from an old machine in Poland ). Re: How long before v4 is out of beta?
Notwithstanding what I wrote earlier, I was recently helping a new user to install CumulusMX and latest v3 would not run (it was remote so didn't get into much detail and investigation) he installed .Net v8 on the PC and I installed CMXv4 and all worked well, so speaks well for v4.
I also run the latest v3-b3283 to use the Davis Cloud (VP2) station type 20 and that works fine. So now tried v4-b4017 with station type 20 and that also looks good.
Enjoy,
Paul
