New Station - Old Data

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

New Station - Old Data

Post by The Dalek Hunter »

My Tempest weather station arrives today (to add to my Davis Vantage and Ecowitt Wittboy)

Can I just copy the data and Cumulus.ini across from the Davis Station to a new install then change the settings to read the data from the Tempest or could that cause problems.

Would it be best to start afresh??

The data is pretty much station-agnostic - apart from some stations having sensors such as solar - so should be transferrable. I would start with a fresh install, and then copy your old data in - not forgetting to change the "date records began" setting.

Either way you are possibly going to have a issue with the rainfall on the day you switch over. If you do, use the rainfall editor to correct it, then leave it until the following day.

Personally, I would just make a backup copy of the current installation, then change the station type and restart.
