Build 3257 wind speeds, rain fall & who knows what else?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Thanks, I managed to reproduce the problem. You are falling foul of your spike removal settings; spike logging is switched off in your config so there is no indication that it is happening.

I'm investigating why it sometimes hits the spike limit with these settings - most of the time it starts OK, I've only had one failure so far...

Wow

That is interesting as it must relate to something new in b3257 as I haven't changed those settings since the earliest days of Cumulus.

Thanks for the continued excellent work of you and your team.

I had made changes to the wind handling to streamline it a bit. This consequence with your combination of settings and spike limits hadn't been picked up in testing.

I've been problem solving some wind issues I'm having (at my age wind often seems to be an issue :roll: ) and noticed I had "round wind speeds" selected, which explains why mine are whole numbers (units are km/h). But I also see in the diag file that my WLL broadcast is returning integer values (always shown with a redundant ".00" appended). Deselecting the "round" option doesn't change the WLL broadcast decimals - as expected as I presume the WLL broadcast knows nothing about cmx settings - and cmx is still showing integer values.

Can you confirm the WLL gets its wind data from the VP2 and that is the limiting factor for decimal places?

Settings via the admin interface weren't saved so I stopped cmx and changed Cumulus.ini lines

WindSpeedDecimals=1
WindSpeedAvgDecimals=1

and all seems to be ok now
