Re: Hostpresto server migration
I have found these people to be very reliable https://www.tsohost.com/
I run 6 websites on there servers and not one single failure in the last 4 years.

Hi David
That looks good to me, once I have got through the HostPresto issue I will start the change of provider. HostPresto have failed 5 times this year and are getting a bit of a pain

Re: Hostpresto server migration
I changed my IP address 3 times, so it keeps blocking all of the new ones as well?!I have unblocked your IP. I believe they may have been blocked by the servers firewall.
What a joke.

Re: Hostpresto server migration
So my site is running again, also had HostPresto saying they had unblocked my IP address.
Time will tell if this runs for a few days with no problems but I think a new provider may be the solution. TSOHost is looking the favourite at the moment

Re: Hostpresto server migration
Yes I am and currently the site is still off line!!!
Just had an interesting chat conversation with tsoHost and I think that is going to be the way forward.

Re: Hostpresto server migration
I think it's the PHP upload, it keeps treating it as a security risk.
I got unblocked, but as soon as I opened CMX and the uploads started, I got instantly blocked.

Re: Hostpresto server migration
So my site is up and running again, it only took 8hrs. Maybe this is now fixed as realtime updates and MySQL updates are all working for the last 45 mins.
Until the next time

Re: Hostpresto server migration
It will be interesting to see if the new CMX build 3248 will affect these issues in any way, since it contains the following change:
”PHP upload now sends a text/plain content header”

Re: Hostpresto server migration
I took the plunge and migrated to tsoHost. I wouldn't say the transition was completely smooth, there seemed to be issues with my billing address and my IP but these were cleared up using the Chat facility.
I transferred my site coding via Filezilla to the new host and after several hours via the DNS network the site to appeared to be functioning as expected.
I am currently waiting for some assist regarding my MySQL databases and once that connection is confirmed I will be fully up and running.
So now we just wait and see if the reliability lives up to expectations.

Re: Hostpresto server migration
It would have been so helpful if I had changed my Cumulus support profile to show the correct website as it does now.
Thanks for the prompt

Re: Hostpresto server migration
Andy you need to go into the Cpanel click Remote SQL in the Databases area and add your IP address to the Access Host list for an inbound connection to your SQL database.I am currently waiting for some assist regarding my MySQL databases and once that connection is confirmed I will be fully up and running.
One you have done that you should be able to connect to your databases.
Note my Virgin Media IP address never changes so is essentially a static IP, but if yours changes on a reboot of your router you will have to add the new address!!
