Solar eclipse of October 25

Post by HansR »

I managed to get a glimpse of the solar eclipse today (11:05 - 13:05 local time) while it was on its way out at 12:35.
Note that the light on the clouds is so blinding that the eclipse itself shows fine.

Nice capture, the wide field and clouds make a change from the close-ups.

We had clear skies in Cheshire and I got a good look at it through eclipse ‘glasses’.

No chance to photograph it sadly. The next total solar eclipse is in the US in April 2024 with a totality exceeding 4 minutes in a path where many millions will see it.

In Europe the eclipse of 12 August 2026 will be total from Santander to the Balearics. Expect hotel prices to be astronomical!
    Cheers,
    Ray, Cheshire.
