realtime.txt, cloudbase value and unit are fixed to ft only?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

realtime.txt, cloudbase value and unit are fixed to ft only?

Post by bthoven »

It seems the cloudbase value in the realtime.txt file is in Ft only even other values are in metric.

Is there anyway to make it in meter, instead?

Thank you

The values are in realtime.txt, and you have TWO of them (both current)

Your wxbox is looking at https://bthofen.com/cumulus/realtime.txt which has cloudbase in ft (.. ENE 3863 ft 27.9 ..)

But you have another realtime.txt at https://bthofen.com/realtime.txt where cloudbase is m (.. SSW 1200 m 28.0 ..)

Thanks. The file with meter value was generated by weewx crt-extension. The other one with foot value was generated by cumulus mx. I intend to use the lattter because the former file doesn't give wind direction when wind speed is zero.

Thanks a lot. I'm not sure how to restart CumuluxMX so that the new setting is in effect.

Close CumulusMX, edit Cumulus.ini, restart CumulusMX.

How to close and restart?
I had to restart my Ubuntu server because I don't know how to close and restart Cumulus MX.
