WRM200 and Cumuulus rain prob
Hi All ,
I am using the latest version of cumulus and since that time the rain data doesn't seem to transfer to Cumulus for display so I have a record of 54 days without rain any ideas ??

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it, and tell me when (recently) the station recorded some rainfall which didn't appear in Cumulus.

Hi Author ,
Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this for me .
There is another problem that may be part of the above the downloading data screens stalls and doesn't complete and stays open until you close ther program down.
Please see attached Diag file as requested and the last entry ( Today) should have registered rain.
Regards
Brad

The above data was the last packet downloaded, so the clock on your console appears to be an hour slow (or your PC is an hour fast), hence Cumulus isn't getting the correct data for the periods when it wasn't running.

Re: WRM200 and Cumuulus rain prob
Your console hasn't recorded any rainfall in the last week, according to the archive records. Here's the earliest archive record in those diags files, timestamped 17:42 on 15th Oct:
16/10/2014 17:38:18.245 : Packet:D2 31 2A 11 0F 0A 0E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 B0 00 0C 01 01 07 0F 0C 12 F0 00 00 20 00 AD 23 AD 33 01 00 B5 00 2F 46 00 00 01 8D 00 37 32 00 00 39 07
16/10/2014 17:38:18.245 : History data for: 2014-10-15 17:42
16/10/2014 17:38:18.245 : Todayfile matches start of history data
16/10/2014 17:38:18.245 : LastUpdateTime = 15/10/2014 5:40:00 PM
16/10/2014 17:38:18.245 : Earliest timestamp = 15/10/2014 5:42:00 PM
16/10/2014 17:38:18.353 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 15/10/2014 5:42:00 PM raindaystart = 11444.2236328125 rain counter = 11444.2236328125
I've highlighted the bytes which represent the rainfall counters.
Here is the latest archive record in the diags files, timestamped 17:51 on 22nd Oct:
22/10/2014 17:59:52.282 : Packet:D2 31 33 11 16 0A 0E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 B0 00 0C 01 01 07 07 0C 00 00 00 00 20 00 B3 03 B3 33 01 40 FA 00 31 8C 00 00 81 ED 00 30 78 00 00 17 08

22/10/2014 17:59:52.343 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 22/10/2014 5:51:00 PM raindaystart = 11444.2236328125 rain counter = 11444.2236328125
The counters haven't changed (the last two highlighted bytes represent the annual total, which is the counter which Cumulus uses). When did it actually rain, and does the console actually show it? You don't appear to be getting any wind readings either.
Regarding the download window not closing, Cumulus told the system to close the window at 18:00:51:
22/10/2014 18:00:50.857 : 6:00:50 PM Switch to normal running
22/10/2014 18:00:50.857 : Drawing initial graphs from data logs
22/10/2014 18:00:51.734 : Finished drawing initial graphs from data logs
22/10/2014 18:00:51.734 : 6:00:51 PM Starting Timers
22/10/2014 18:00:51.735 : Closing Please Wait form
I'm afraid I don't know why it didn't get closed. Does this happen every time? Does it still happen if you don't touch the computer keyboard and mouse after starting Cumulus?
By the way, your pressure reading is far too low. You need to set the sea level pressure correctly on the console. I can't remember whether this involves an altitude setting, or setting the sea level pressure to the known current actual value.

Re: WRM200 and Cumuulus rain prob
Hi and thanks for your interest in helping I am a bit unsure what it means or if the Weather machine is broken.
I still am getting the problems with the record rainfall so have zipped the diag file again which should show rain in the last 24 hours. Strangely enough everytime I start to download off the WRM 200 the last hour column its says .2mm which disappears after a while but doesn't register as rainfall.
The pressure problem you mentioned on your last post I have entered the altitude and coordinates in the station configuration part of Cumulus for reference compared to The airport which is 50 metres below me see (screen shot). Having said that the Information below MY WEATHER is all wrong the sunrise /sunset times etc.
The download screen pretty much 95% of the time stays open, I usually start Cumulus and minimise when downloading.
I suppose what I am asking is is it the weather station that is faulty ? My setup ? or Cumulus ??
Thanks in advance
Brad

Re: WRM200 and Cumuulus rain prob
The annual rainfall total from your console still hasn't changed, so Cumulus isn't recording any change in rainfall total. Clearly the station is detecting rain, as it supplied a rain rate, and I can see that it is supplying figures for rain in the last hour and last 24 hours. But unless the annual total changes, Cumulus won't record a change in the total.
Your annual total (as supplied by the console) is very high - 11444.2 mm. Perhaps this is the maximum that the console can record? Is it likely that figure is genuine? You could try completely resetting the console to clear that figure (or just clear the annual total, if the console allows that).
The sea-level pressure calculation is done in the console, so you need to set the console correctly to get the pressure calculated correctly.
If the sunrise and sunset times in Cumulus are wrong, then you have probably put your coordinates into Cumulus incorrectly, see the FAQ - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_sun ... _are_wrong

Wow ,
I think we are cured looks like I had the coordinates correct just the N & S wrong thanks. Sunrise & Sunset look correct.
Rainfall well the recorded record ended today so will have to mend records ( have tried but ).
Not sure but seems download screen might have a problem friend also gone.
Pressure problem also corrected.
Thankyou Oracle .
I will kick the Tin because I like the program & your support. Thanks

Re: WRM200 and Cumuulus rain prob
The issue with the 'downloading' window not closing does appear to be caused by minimising Cumulus during the download, I can reproduce it myself with my WMR200 test station. With other weather stations, I have disabled the main window during the download so that the user cannot do anything to interfere with the download operation (which would include minimising the window); I've forgotten to do this for the WMR200 and WMR100.
You can either put up with it not closing, or don't minimise until the download has finished, or configure it to start minimised in the display settings.
Thanks for the donation.

Re: WRM200 and Cumuulus rain prob
Thanks again for all your help.
Still on the rain problem.
I now as attached am getting the rain tally for monthly and year to date.
However the rain rate doesn't seem to register.

Sorry, I don't understand. There's a high rain rate for today at 14:20 of 117.9 mm/hr, so in what way is the rain rate not registering? What does your rain rate graph look like at the moment?bbbratty wrote:However the rain rate doesn't seem to register.
