Re: Lost Connection - WU

Are you using 'rapid fire'? If not, what interval are you using? Do you have debug logging turned on in Cumulus (Logging=1 in the [Station] section of Cumulus.ini)? Rapid Fire is enabled. I have the interval set to 1 as well but with RapidFire on I assume it ignores that. Logging was not enabled. I...

Lost Connection - WU

Not sure if this is a RaspPi issue or Cumulus. Background: My RaspPi is hooked up via WiFi with a DHCP reservation on my Router. A few days ago, I updated my Router's firmware. In the process the Pi was disconnected for a good half hour as I reset all settings from scratch as it required a factory r...

Re: Password Authorization

That could work... Firewall rules. However unless a user sets their system up with a Static ip that they'll be accessing it from, it may not work, or are unfamiliar with the concept of DHCP vs Static. It'd work in my case as the set systems i'll be accessing it from will be static. I'm wondering, do...

Password Authorization

Steve, I was wondering if it was possible to add password authorization to the main web config page for Cumulus? As it stands anyone connected to my LAN can connect to it and modify the settings with ease. Not that big a concern though. However I was thinking of buying a cheap Fine Offset station an...

Re: Double Postings for Midnight Timestamp

Confirmed 3016 has fixed this I believe. I've had 3 rollovers since updating to 3016 and not a single one caused duplicate entries. It was doing it at least 3 out of 4 days prior to 3016.

Thanks Steve!

All over out National news down here also way downunder. Great photos :) Thanks! If you look at the car long enough you might recognize it ;) US import of a VE Commodore. My area in North West Connecticut only got 8 inches out of it all said and done. Just a typical storm. 20 miles east, near the c...

Re: Upgrading CumulusMX in the Rpi

I setup a Samba server on my Pi for the Pi user directory, password protected. I mount this on my desktop and just edit fills all will nilly. I usually just copy the .zip over Samba then SSH in using open-ssh from cygwin in a command prompt and run the unzip command. You can use putty if you want to...

The way I'm displaying it. They're comma separated. When I opened the file I opened it in LibreOffice as a CSV to edit it like a Spreadsheet.

Re: Lost all my data

SD Card corruption on RaspPi is a major issue. If you're using the SD Card, get a Class10 SDHC, and get it from a well known good manufacturer. Apart from that it might be a good idea to get a USB SSD or HDD and power it via a powered USB hub and run Cumulus off that. Another option I've been toying...

Snow

Current NOAA reports put my area to get close to 30 inches (76cm) of snow between now and 24 hours from now Tuesday night. They just closed down the state and issues a travel ban for anyone other than emergency vehicles. Major Nor'Easter storm. The last time we had this much snow was Feb 2013, measu...

Double Postings for Midnight Timestamp

I seem to be having a weird issue. Every night at Midnight (00:00) my station produces two entries with 00:00 timestamp. I have it set to log every minute. I get the following error on the console: 2015-01-26 23:22:10.972 Loading last N hour data from data logs: 1/26/2015 11:18:00 PM 2015-01-26 23:2...

Re: Install CMX on RPI's external drive

I'm running mine on a 32gb Class10 MicroSDHC. I have it backed up daily. Do you think a USB spinning drive would be wise? (Or perhaps a small 64gb 2.5" SSD in a enclosure..). I'm concerned for corruption. This is my first Pi.

Re: Ground Shaking

Can't imagine what a 5.3 would feel like. Here we get Hurricanes and tropical storms (2011, 2012), 3ft-4ft of snow in 24 hours (2011 and 2013), major flooding (8.5in of rain in 24 hours), and I can deal with it all. Earthquakes always scare me as there's no forecasting, and nothing you can do to pre...
