Re: Cumulus PHP-GD Avatar

Just to dig up an old thread... I seem to be the only one actually using a live Avatar on the forum, everyone else is using banners, any reason why?

Re: Number of days without rain - possible webtag

Thanks for that Helen, I've been looking into to, but I want to show the number of consecutive days without rain. The SQL for that is proving much trickier, and I'm having to self join the table and perform sub-queries. I think it will be simpler to combine a simple SQL query with some PHP code to c...

Re: Something is Wrong

I changed mine to use a code instead of the symbol - so you avoid the vagaries of file encodings etc - try replacing the degree symbol with °

Re: Planet Earth Windows Gadget

Honestly don't know Steve. I only have x32 systems to test on at the moment. Running the 32bit version of Sidebar shouldn't cause any major performance hit though - I expect you will already be running the 32bit versions of the browsers.

Re: Planet Earth Windows Gadget

v0.3 is now available. This will probably be the final version, I think I have proved that the Flash engine works OK, time to get Moon Phase III completed, this is rather more complex in the 3D rendering as it creates all the crater/mountian shadows as well.

Re: Problem with gauges.htm with custom template

I'd wait for Steve, but one of the lines in your file is 429 characters long, could you try breaking the long lines up and see if that helps in the meantime? Speculation but, Cumulus may have a buffer that cannot cope with that much data on one line.

Re: Planet Earth Windows Gadget

Lucky you! The gadget uses three different download sites in a random order each time you start it. So if you restart it may pick a different site and you'll get a complete download - if you're lucky! Unfortunately the incomplete images do happen on occasion. I have the next release ready now,...

Re: Radiation Shield accuracy

One station 4 miles from Manchester Airport recorded 10F higher at one point! Ray, would that be mine? I removed the shield from the sensor today it give it coat of white enamel. I have a feeling this will be a big (and simple) improvement on the standard FO shield. When I removed the shield the te...

I don't think so, you can't with the Fine Offset, but could you disconnect the aerial in the receiver?

Demo website? - FOUND

On an earlier topic a link was posted to a demo/experimental website that had lots of techniques demonstrated for using client side javascript for producing pages. Of course I cannot find it again :x , anyone know what I'm talking about? Edit: I remember it was on Beteljuice's website somewhere! Edi...

Re: Somewhere to site my pages....

I use NearlyFreeSpeech which has a pay for usage system. You pay for how much storage space you use and how much bandwidth you consume. I have found it reliable, and for the bandwidth used by most personal websites very cheap - I pay less that $20 a year for both my web sites. It is also pretty func...

Terry, I have fixed the DPI scaling issues - under Windows 7 anyway, I can PM you a link to download a preview of version 0.3 if you would like to test it?

Thanks
