I was only looking at an easier way of doing it to help others that don't have the knowledge to use cmd commands plus this is to start cmx on start up

Steve 3009 has sorted this so fingers crossed I find nothing else now I have all the bits connected and receiving real data.

not sure if you have sorted this out but I use usb3 cables and they work fine. there is also a diode mod that can be done which I did on a usb2 cable and that dose improve things as well.

no problem working night shifts has an advantage but hope you get the right cable and up and running soon

no problem that's what we are here for. check out ebay for a cable there are loads of them and you can also get different lengths

if you have an other pc or laptop try connecting it to that to prove the cable and base station is ok

you need to look under human interface devices and there should show usb input device I have not found a way to id which is which count how many there is and connect the base station and recount to see if they increase by 1 if not the port you are using is not recognizing the base station but could ...

you need to look under hid not usb this covers lots of things so with the station disconnected count how many there is and then connect the station and recount them if you get the same figure its not been seen if it increases by 1 good chance it is. if it is not seen try another port if you have one...

check with device manager that the base station is showing when you connect it. it shows as an human interface device. you might have to connect and disconnect a few times and count how many show each time. if its an older model you should hear the relay click when you connect it this is only provin...

I cant get the inside temp to change using the offset. tried adding 10 and subtracting 10 but no change to the readings. works fine with c1 even changed it in c1 copied cumulus.ini from c1 into cmx but no change to the inside temp. I don't need to use it and was only playing around when I noticed it...

cant remember seeing this asked before but might have missed it.

dose the wind speed gauge auto scale to the speed or is it like c1 where you can change the range?

as you no what has gone wrong you could try opening jan15 log with note pad and remove the corrupt lines leaving no spaces. then save it and restart cumulus. you may also have to correct all time records the same way.
