Re: Daily Average Temperature Query

As far as I understand - no doubt others will jump in - the following is true: The MetOffice calculates the average daily temperature as (Max+Min)/2 ; You can opt to have CMX calculate it this way in the NOAA report CMX calculates the average over 24 hrs standard as SUM(all samples)/NumberOfSamples...

Daily Average Temperature Query

Hi. Just a general question, but what is the agreed measure for determining an average daily temperature? Is it the average from midnight to midnight over 24 hours; a given 12 hour window (say 7am to 7pm); or is it between sunrise and sunset? I've pinged the Met Office that question, but they've not...

Re: Lost Sensor Contact

Invariably whenever I get that error message it's because the station isn't talking to the outside sensor. Usual suspects for me were either failing batteries (in either the station or the outside sensor) or, for some reason, when a load of spiders decided to live inside the sensor housing and cover...

Re: Problems with station communication

You can add me to the list of users with a 1080 and having a comm problem between the station and PC (in my case its a netbook). Everything had been hunky-dory since I set it all up a couple of months ago (I don't have a website yet, but do update WOW and Wunderground plus send out tweets) and then ...

Re: Web Hosting

I'm looking at One.com for hosting a website: they're offering free 5GB storage and unlimited bandwidth and free domain registration (setup costs only £9), with future costs at £10.80 p/a. Too good to be true? How much storage is recommended for a website?

Re: Met Office WOW Upload

Thanks, Steve, and I've now configured with weather station with WOW. Is it possible to upload my previous couple of months data from my station, or shall I just start from now?

Met Office WOW Upload

Hi all, I haven't yet gotten around to setting up my weather station (WS1080) to the interwebnetthingy (I will soon enough), but I thought I would, daily upload all the data to the Met Office WOW site. I've set up my account but it expects the file upload to be in Davis Weatherlink format. Is there ...

Internal Humity Query

A'noon all, I'm a relatively newbie to all of this and have just got an upgrade from my basic Oregon Scientific weather station (which basically recorded humidity, pressure and temperature) to a WS1080 which I got from Maplin. Now I've got it all set up well and good, but I've noticed that there's a...
