Re: Davis Prices
I cannot find any 8-32 thread M3.5 45mm screws any where in the UK. The threads are no good on the M3.5's that I bought, the spacing is too fine. Really? Look at the very first hit here on Amazon UK. They’re even the right length at 1.75” / 45mm https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=8-32+screw+1.75&s=pr...

Re: 2nd Anemometer Failing
My anemometer is attached to a pole on the chimney breast but the transmitter is much lower. Below the bathroom window above a flat porch roof. Easy access with a short stepladder. Why not use the full length of the cable to place the transmitter at a more convenient location? I've got no place it'...

Re: Davis Prices
Just looking on the Scaled Instruments website run by the always helpful Ryan Wilhour and I can see the following at a more reasonable price; https://www.scaledinstruments.com/shop/davis-instruments/parts/vantage-pro2-parts/uv-and-solar-radiation-sensor-parts/davis-16fwrt006032-nylon-retaining-washe...

Re: Davis Prices
I feel your pain. Davis prices have always been scandalous over here. Many years ago when I was travelling to the US and looking to buy a VP2+ and IP logger the UK price was £1389 and the US price was $928 or £606.53  Even accounting for the usual Sales Tax/VAT/Duty/Shipping/Import/Handling e...

Re: Cumulus MX, Raspberry Pi & Davis VP2 questions
Thanks for the comprehensive reply Paul. Another complication is my ISS is from the US and my 6100 is a UK model and the fact that I will end up with two accounts and have to import data from my existing to the new one is the reason the 6100 WLL is still in the box! My plan is to relocate the anemom...

Re: Cumulus MX, Raspberry Pi & Davis VP2 questions
Forgot to mention I also have a 7210 Air Quality Sensor that uploads directly to the WeatherLink website so not sure how CMX will integrate with that if at all?
Thanks & kind regards,

Cumulus MX, Raspberry Pi & Davis VP2 questions
Not sure whether I should post this here or in the Davis forum but figured as I will have some follow-up questions on Cumulus on Raspberry Pi I might as well keep all related stuff in one place! I have an existing VP2 Plus that has been feeding WeatherLink via 6555 WeatherLink IP fitted to 6132 cons...

Re: Thinking of returning to the fold...things have moved on a bit!
am already halfway through reading the 13 page thread As an alternative/addition to reading that 13 page support forum thread , you could try dipping into parts of the Cumulus Wiki documentation , (which was generated based on Buster, long before Bulleye available). Thanks for the reply swfs, Some ...

Re: Thinking of returning to the fold...things have moved on a bit!
Thanks for the reply Roger, Well the thing is if I upgraded one I'd have to upgrade the other five so as to keep them as identical as possible! One runs Pi-hole to keep those nasty ads away, another is a Virtual Radar box that feeds FlightAware, FlightRadar 24, RadarBox and ADSB-Exchange and has bee...

Thinking of returning to the fold...things have moved on a bit!
Hi there, Used to run Cumulus 1 back in the day when I had a Maplin/Watson/Fine Offset weather station but that failed @2010 or thereabouts and I've also moved on a bit since then! :) Have been using a Davis Wireless 6162 VP2+ with Airlink and 6555IP logger and it just sits there 24/7/365 doing its ...

Re: Soil Moisture sensor
I have a related question if I may please? I would like to use the Leaf Wetness Sensor/Soil Station as an ‘It’s Raining!’ indicator but was wondering what it would look like both in the Weatherlink app and on the Weatherlink website? I asked Davis the question but they could not show me a screenshot...

VP2 sensor mounting questions?
Well its been a while since I've been here - I've just checked and it was 2012 :o I joined in 2009 (was it really that long ago?) after I purchased the Watson/Web Offset and happily ran Cumulus for over a year on the first set of batteries. After they went flat I fitted a new set if Duracells which ...

VP2 - Wired vs. Wireless
Hi there, Thinking seriously of going for the VP2 but was wondering (apart from the obvious cabling) what, if any other differences were between the wired & wireless versions of the VP2? A huge advantage for me would be not to have to get up on the roof to change batteries but I wondered if ther...

Davis 6162 questions?
Hi there, It's been a while since I have been around these parts... I have an old Maplin/Fine Offset that worked well with Cumulus until the last set of fresh Duracells lasted a measly 3 months (after the first set lasted a little over a year) and I have not had the heart nor inspiration to go...
