Re: Cumulus pressure calibration
I frequently have to adjust the offset to match local pressure. My 1080 jumps as much as +/- 20 mB for some reason, usually accompanied by a 'USB failed' report. Just reset and jiggle the data

Re: Thank you, Steve for 15 years of support
All good things must come to an end but you went out at the top. Its been a very rewarding experience and I have learned so much including some humility and more patience. I often wondered what your head was like when faced with some of my 'now obviously stupid' questions! Good luck Steve and I hope...

Hi Bob. Phil (G0DOR) in Liverpool, UK here Just read your post and had to comment :D I have had my wx set up since 2008 and up till last month it ran on a HP laptop 18 years old. The unit did have a 2.5 hard drive retro fitted (ide to SATA) and the screen was full of vertical 'bad' lines but ran lik...

remote 1080 console reset
I had a usb lock recently and wondered if this fix might work? In the event of a lock the USB connection and the power need to be disconnected. What I would like to try is doing both these tasks remotely over the network. I have the power reset working using an Arduino controlled relay breaking the ...

Re: Cumulus 1 and SDR radio
Hi John Interested in SDR possibilities myself but thats for another day. I wonder if you have tried a slightly different 'directional aerial' solution? The console aerial could be made directional by fitting a reflector behind the unit. There are several designs for paper/foil based reflectors ... ...

I use a software called CSVEdit to 'edit' the files and process them for graphing with Excell.
Its free and works great.

Re: Fine Offset station protection
It might be interesting to find out if the device is transmitting>
Either grab a local radio amateur, who may have the kit, or get an SDR TV dongle (£10) and check the frequency for a signal using a PC.
Otherwise you would need a scope to check values.

Re: Cannot download data.
Hi Mike. I would agree with the previous comments. Some other things to try. Unplug the console and run 'stand alone' with NO PC. What happens? Plug the console in WITH A RUNNING PC but NO SOFTWARE RUNNING and leave it for 24 hours. What happens? I had lots of issues with USB lockups over years but ...

Re: WH3081 Faulty Light/UV sensor Update
various ideas have been suggested including overloading the processor with voltage due to extreme sunlight. All i can offer is that the mod worked on my system. Zero crashes all thru the summer. I also note that the UV and light values are now always within the curve whereas before they often gave v...

WH3081 Faulty Light/UV sensor Update
Hi guys. Wrote earlier in the year about the modification to the UV sensor and promised to report back. The addition of a 3*1 cm plastic strip folded into a 1*1 cm sq placed over the UV sensor has reduced lock ups to nil over the past 4 months. I used plastic from a CD 'floppy' cover. The station ha...

Re: Splitting a FO signal
Try connecting each USB connection for 12 hours, shutting the 'other' unit down in between.
Cumulus downloads data from the console and catches up.
This certainly worked for me when i ran Easy Weather and Cumulus softwares.
You can't run them together from 1 USB connection but this worked for me.
