I use both, but not at the same time. My normal running configuration is cumulus, but once every few days (maximum nine) I shut down cumulus and run weather link just long enough to get the backlog data loaded.
So far as I know you can't run both at once.

Re: Extreme cold VP2 console don't work?
I think the communication protocol between the ISS in the console has a degree of dependence on how closely matched the clock rates are that govern the transmission from the ISS and the reception in the console. If they are too badly mismatched console does not succeed in getting synced up. Though I...

Re: Cumulus hangs at web site update
As intended, I did a trial using Xfinity as my internet provide, instead of Starlink. Cumulus still froze immediately that I commanded a web update. I have a Wireshark capture of that one also.

Re: Cumulus hangs at web site update
A little while ago I ran Wireshark while attempting web updates from Cumulus, both by clicking the manual update button while auto update was turned off, and by just letting a 5 minute boundary go by with auto turned on. In both cases Wireshark showed me lines outside my net I presume were interacti...

Re: Cumulus hangs at web site update
The ftplog.txt file can get quite large so make sure it gets unticked after a while. Sorry. I was looking at file timestamps, and did not spot ftplog.txt since it has a file timestamp from 2017. So running all night with ftp logging enabled but web update turned off added nothing to this file. (per...

Re: Cumulus hangs at web site update
Cumulus ran fine overnight with both FTP logging and Debug log activated, and web settings auto update switched off. After reading your responses I did a manual web update (File|web update). Again I observed that the time of day display immediately stopped incrementing. After using Windows to close ...

Cumulus hangs at web site update
I've been running Cumulus on Windows posting data from a Davis Vantage Pro2 station since 2011. I've been running Cumulus version 1.9.4 build 1099 for many, many months. My setup failed abruptly at midnight October 2. Since then, the Cumulus software stalls the moment it hits the next 5 minute "...

spike problem
There may be a good practical reason not to include the highest momentary values for either solar or UV in record accounting. Reflections off clouds that are near the direct path from the sun to the sensor mean that both of these sensors log values for short periods of time that are substantially ab...

Last time I checked
I have not looked at this matter since a long time ago but back then I formed the impression that I was using about 5 GB a month. My update interval remains five minutes.I am still on original Cumulus but plan to upgrade to MX as soon as I get around to it as I wish better graphs and I want to see m...

How to get there?
I can't find my way to that for my AirLink. Is it possible that one needs to have a Pro subscription?
Also, should this information be visible from the Android tablet I initially used to start the thing up weeks ago but don't ever look at?

Done it for years
I have for some years run the configuration of operating Cumulus nonstop except for a few minutes once every 3 to 9 days when I stop Cumulus and run weather link just long enough for weather link to get the data since the last time it ran. The 9 day limit arises from my use of a 5 minute logging int...

Wait for some cloudless hours
A lot of us got surprised when we first looked at solar sensor data to see spikes well above the "possible" line. When it is spiky, the issue is reflections from clouds. And, yes, the sensor really does get radiance well above what the sun can provide undisturbed because it is seeing not o...

Re: Sunshine hours
did you actually get more than 6 hours where the theoretical solar max was >120w/m2? For standard cumulus, the threshold value above which detected solar radiation counts as sunshine time has two configurable values. One is the fraction of "theoretical", and the other is a simple watts pe...

Time of year matters
An extra complication that I see in using classic Cumulus is that here in Albuquerque New Mexico there is systematic annual variation. So I get the best average match between cloudless day reported solar and the "theoretical" curve year-round by tweaking the transmission factor to get a go...
