Re: Lost external sensor in PCE WS20 (WH1080 clone) - can I test it without wind/rain sensors plugged?
Well, yesterday I received my new whole weather station. So I picked up console and transmitter and turned them on: after a couple of seconds they sync themselves. Ok Then I tried with old trasmitter and new console receiver: no signal. Then tried with new trasmitter and old console receiver: perfec...

Re: Lost external sensor in PCE WS20 (WH1080 clone) - can I test it without wind/rain sensors plugged?
You are so right that I was thinking the same about ordering the single trasmitter: I changed my order and ordered a whole new weather station. (The spare trasmitter was out of stock and it would take weeks to have it, instead PCE Italy division told me they have the complete weather station on stoc...

Re: Lost external sensor in PCE WS20 (WH1080 clone) - can I test it without wind/rain sensors plugged?
The red led seems to behave correctly: fixed for 4 seconds when starting, after a while 5 short flashes, and then a single flash every minute or so. But the station doesn't receive anything (even after a full day) I ordered a new trasmitter but at this point I'm wondering if the problem is in the co...

Lost external sensor in PCE WS20 (WH1080 clone) - can I test it without wind/rain sensors plugged?
Hello, some days ago my two-years old PCE WS20 weather station (it's a clone o WH1080) lost the external sensor. This time I cannot sync it anymore, so I removed the thermohygrometer sensor and bring it indoor to try to sync it to the console. I'm not managing to get any data on the console, even wi...

Re: NOAA Reports
Well, I don't know ... I saw very useful the max daily rainrate near the daily rain total since it can highlight when the rain was heavy or not. And with that information I concluded that my FineOfsset was underestimating ONLY on heavy rain days while on normal rain days it was ok. Anyway no problem...

NOAA Reports
Hello, while checking for coerence for my FineOffset Rain Gauge I found a meteo station near mine that have a web page. In the web page I found the NOAA monthly reports and opened them to check. I found that they are a bit more detailed than cumulus ones? Would be possible to add extra data to the c...

Re: Rain values always at half than possible correct values
I reply to myself because I'm guessing about the magnetic reed of the rain sensor.
If one of the two magnets could be broken, then I would have half of the ticks, so half of the rain recorded.... probably I have a problem of that...

Rain values always at half than possible correct values
This time it's raining a lot in my country (Italy) and I've just swapped from a LaCrosse staton to a FineOffset... WS1080 Every now and then I check with other meteo stations if my rain / temperature /wind readings are consistent with other ones (as reported by other station more or less near my sta...

Re: Just switched from LaCrosse WS2300 to FineOffset WS-1080
Ok, yesterday evening (after a day from the reset) I found the same error again.
This morning I changed the usb extension with another one, and at the moment I see no usb error... I will see

Re: Just switched from LaCrosse WS2300 to FineOffset WS-1080
Ok, how can I check if I have the USB look-up problem? I use a usb cable with a cable extension, maybe it's that... I will search for a longer cable but it's difficult because it's a strange cable with double male A connectors :( I will also check changing USB port on PC... is it safe or does it cha...

Re: Just switched from LaCrosse WS2300 to FineOffset WS-1080
Well, I spoke too early... During the last week I had a lot of "communication problems" with FineOffset, and cumulus told me to "remove USB cable and batteries from the weather station"... Since the problem was intermittent (only few times, and not always) I waited for a week but...

Re: Just switched from LaCrosse WS2300 to FineOffset WS-1080
At the moment it never did the "zero readings" anymore.
Hopefully it was due to my fault because at the first I inverted the sensors into the thermohygrometer sensor and maybe it caused that problem.
After 4 days (and after some stop and start tests) it's running flawlessly

Re: Just switched from LaCrosse WS2300 to FineOffset WS-1080
Yes, I set 20minutes with easyweather into the station and then set 20 minutes in Cumulus. Unluckily I don't remember if the zero reading problem was during the first two start or just during the first one... Today just before zipping the diag folder I stopped cumulus but restarting it I found no is...

From the log consider only the data after yesterday (monday) evening at 19:00, because before that moment I had connected wrongly the sensors (inverted rain and wind on the thermoigrometer sockets), so the values were wrong.
Thank you!

Re: Just switched from LaCrosse WS2300 to FineOffset WS-1080
Thank you, I read the FAQ and found the wind values explanation... ok. About the station settings I am ok with "Fine Offset" (without U/V). About the zero readings at the start of Cumulus I can say that I have configured cumulus for FineOffset with serial port 0, I don't know if it's right...
