Re: Hats off to Steve!
Steve should be congratulated, and rewarded, for all his work developing Cumulus over the years. I for one used Cumulus 1 for a number of years until my equipment fell over and died in the middle of a busy time in my life. Les. Than a month ago I decided to repair the hardware and give CMX a go. It ...

Re: Show All High Charts Instead Of A Selection
Your probably right about the scroll bar @Mapantz.
Perhaps introduce a right margin of 5% and a left to balance things. This would allow tablet users to scroll the content using this space.
It's important to allow for touch screens in web design these days.

Re: Show All High Charts Instead Of A Selection
I'm using an iPad to look at your trend page and have a suggestion. It's very difficult to scroll the page on a tablet as the scroll bar is so narrow. I'd suggest widening the scroll bar.

Re: Importing Data to Excel
Just wondering, what would happen if the header files were inserted at the beginning of the data files in Cumulus? Would this corrupt these files?steve wrote:Cumulus provides two files containing the column headers, monthlyfileheader.txt and dayfileheader.txt.

Re: Rain gauge mounting bracket.
Good modification Jim. I don't think we would get away with the funnel type you have used in Australia as it wouldn't last 6 months with our summer sun. I've replaced my Fine Offset with a Davis VP2. If I were to have stayed with FO I would have used the funnel from a commercial rain gauge in the wa...

Not my birthday, but my wife's.
The birth of our first daughter. That's unforgettable.

Re: Cumulus software not pulling data from station
I don't remember doing anything in that area, but I might have. I replaced the ".1" with 1.0 instead. I'll see what happens over the next couple of days. Might I suggest 1.0 is way too low. Either choose values that are above realistic changes (designed to remove spikes) or do as beteljui...

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
I'm using the icons and images produced by Realtime Data Grabber on my Homepage. Also I use some JavaScript to pop-up graphs and images. I posted reference to this on my site earlier in this thread. Have now added Mark's forecasticon.png to the homepage with a pop-up of the forecasttext.png. Just cl...

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Have upgraded and all is working fine. I have one querie: What is the trigger to change the forecast icon from daytime to nighttime? I've noticed that the icon stays as daytime way after sunset or dusk. Is this set to northern hemisphere times? PS Haven't been up early enough to test the icon change...

Re: IOS
I once had code in the head of the index.htm that sent iPhones and iPods to a mobile web page designed for these devices. Because I couldn't figure out how to get similar code for Android smart phones to work, I removed it. Now I have a menu choice (Mobile) on my main site with two submenu choices, ...

Re: Daylight Saving & Standard Time
Today was the end of daylight saving in South Australia. There were no apparent dramas with Cumulus. I have the PC running 24/7. The most interesting thing involved the graphs produced by Cumulus. Here are a couple of them:

Re: Webtags in toolbox
You can have Cumulus process files and put them wherever you like on your PC. I think this is in a way what Steve is suggesting. Then you can have Toolbox upload them. I do this for some of my html files. For example, my menu contains a current month link, so I have <#month> <#year> as a bu...

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Hi Steve, That’s a valid point. I will have a look into switching the arrow direction dependent upon where the station is located. I may just put an option in the config screen so that the user can select the northern or southern hemisphere. Regards Mark I gave this some thought today after Steve's...

Re: Cumulus RealTime Data Grabber - Tool
Hi Bob, Thanks for your comments. I am glad that more people are finding my little program useful. Also nice touch by integrating it into your charts page. Mark Hi Mark, Gone a little further and integrated some of the graphics into my "index.htm". I've added the Prediction icons, the Pre...
