Re: Raspberry-pi, CumulusMX, RTLSDR-dongle, sniffing Fineoffset transmitter
On my ToDo list is to use a HopeRF receiver on a Raspberry Pi to intercept the FIne Offset data. Not at the top of the list though. I have a couple of plugin boards from openenergymonitor.org that should help do the job. They contain an Atmel 328 and a Hoperf RFM128 so can run the Jeelabs RFM128 libr...

Re: Steve Weather Station
Retiring while you're young enough to enjoy it is a great idea.
I certainly don't regret doing it.
Enjoy the 'RVing'

Geoff

Re: Regional networks [netID]-mesomap.php now has Google map
I've just joined the AUWN mesonet and I'm impressed with how easy it was to set up - and how well it works.
Biggest problem for me is decideing how to rearrange my website to include the map
Well done.

Re: scp instead of ftp
Doh!
I can't believe it, I forgot to put the magic #!/bin/sh as the first line of the shell script!
Script now works as expected and data is being uploaded to my web pages.

Re: scp instead of ftp
Thanks Mark, I'll make that change and see what happens.
EDIT: No change, still no output from program. FWIW, I'm running CumulusMX 3036

Re: scp instead of ftp
Logging is on, ftp host is set to null and the files are correctly processed. The log tells me that the external program has been run but it doesn't appear to be. 2016-03-12 23:20:02.870 Executing program /home/weather/CumulusMX/weather_copy.sh testing 2016-03-12 23:20:02.887 External program starte...

Re: scp instead of ftp
Thanks Steve, I did try deleting all of the ftp info but got an error message. Just tried with the host blank and it isn't complaining. Another question on the same/related subject. I need to run a script to perform the scp. I've entered the name of this script into the External Program section unde...

scp instead of ftp
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I can no longer ftp from CumulusMX to my Internet website. Network congestion is causing all ftp connection attempts to timeout I can however use ssh/scp to copy the necessary files. I can call a script from CumulusMX to do the ssh/scp copy but if I don't have...

Re: Ideas to stop spiders making a home on my camera?
I too get spiders (this is Australia after all!) but my camera is in a case with a glass front so I can spray a surface spray without worrying about the lens of the camera. Problem is that the surface spray doesn't stand up to the weather for that long so the spiders return. Very long handled brush ...

Re: Just an observation for users of the Pi 2
Units are seconds.
I run a USB hard disk on my Pi and 5 seconds seems to be enough.

Re: Raspberry Pi 2
As well as CumulusMX on my Rpi 2, I have an RTL-SDR USB dongle installed and I'm using it to play around with AIS and ADS-B . I also have one of these installed http://wiki.openenergymonitor.org/index.php?title=RFM12Pi_V2. This is an RFM12B transceiver and an Arduino compatible Atmel chip that allow...

Re: Data file group ownership on Raspberry PI
I would expect any file created by CumulusMX to be have an owner/group of root /root (0.0) as CumulusMX is run as root vie the sudo command.

Re: No luck at all running CMX
What version of mono are you running (mono -V)?
I initially had problems running it on an RPi but it's worked fine after I made sure I was running the latest mono and all OS updates.

Re: Lost all my data
Am I correct in assuming that Cumulus will recreate the record files i.e. alltime.ini, month.ini, monthlyalltime.ini year.ini, the first time it is run or at end of day processing? Other than the edit menus in Cumulus 1, are there any available tools to help rebuild/recreate missing files or is it j...
