Extend the cables and bring the transmitter to just outside the window this is what I did but for a different reason also makes changing the batteries easy.Alan

Yes I have the same problem originals lasted 13 month then they have gone downhill ever since, tried 10 year batteries, Duracell you name it they only last a fortnight . Alan

Do not ask me why but try touching the memory section a couple of times this is strange I know but it cured mine.Alan

My LaCrosse WS2800 is totally wireless solar powered wind & rain, C battery`s temperature & console USB dongle plugs into PC, but after startup on PC you do have to go and press SET on the console to make a connection. Alan

Have you used a extension cable and if so make sure you used a cable with 4 connecters using a cable with only 2 connecters will give you this problem.Alan

I also check my WH1090 with a manual rain guage and found it very accurate, not today though as there is about 2inch of snow on top of it.
