Thanks for responses. Mine does seem high compared to those. I'm in the US.

Website Hosting question
I've been paying GoDaddy around $110/year to host my website running MX but it's just too much now. I've been looking into other hosting companies but one I contacted yesterday said they likely couldn't host mine because they said their Linux servers likely wouldn't play well with my Windows based s...

Re: realtime.txt and wxnow.txt can't be accessed (messages in log)
I unchecked the copy option for realtime.txt and that stopped those errors. What is wxnow for? I see the setting for that but not sure what purpose that serves. I tried to attach my websitedataT.json file but it wouldn't let me. The only change I made was to add this line for the purposes of creatin...

realtime.txt and wxnow.txt can't be accessed (messages in log)
I'm seeing continuous messages in the log file saying wxnow.txt and realtime.txt can't be accessed because they are being used by another process. I've attached my MXdiags folder for reference. I did add a line to my websitedataT.json and restarted MX. The websitedata.json file seems to be formatted...

Re: Adding a 24 hour trend to the display
It wouldn't let me attach the index.htm so I just copied the only section that I modified. The websitedataT.json section is below that. <tr class="w3-theme-l2"> <td>Temp change last hour</td> <td><span data-cmxdata="TempChangeLastHour"></span> <span data-cmxdata="te...

Re: Adding a 24 hour trend to the display
Thanks! I think we're moving in the right direction but not quite there. I did get the same results you did in the json file but after modifying the index.htm to put this in: <td><span data-cmxdata="TempChangeLastDay"></span><span data-cmxdata="tempunit"></span></td> I got "...

Re: Adding a 24 hour trend to the display
Still trying to figure this out. In the WebsitedataT.json file there is a setting for TempChangeLastHour which according to the Websitedata.json Wiki is defined as <#RecentOutsideTemp h=1>. But it doesn't say which file that <#RecentOutsideTemp h=1> is located. I'm thinking if I can add <#RecentOuts...

Adding a 24 hour trend to the display
In the previous version of MX I had some scripting code in my indexT.htm file that created a 24 hour trend of various parameters (temperature and dewpoint mainly). Here's what the code looked like: <script> diff = (<#RCtemp>*10 - <#RCRecentOutsideTemp d=1>*10) / 10; if (diff > 0) { diff = '+' + diff...

Re: Unhandled Exception
MX has been running now for a couple days straight without crashing or asking to be restarted. However, I'm still seeing most of the same errors/messages in the log file. Here's one from just a few minutes ago: 2021-10-14 15:50:00.454 LocalCopy: Error = System.IO.IOException: The process cannot acce...

Re: Not getting data from VP2 with MX
Thanks. I'm definitely on board with the new method and it was working fine for a 5-10 minutes, but I must be missing a step or two because I'm getting some errors, including an unhandled exception error file that I've posted in a new thread since it's not really related to the Davis issues.

Unhandled Exception
I've just started running the updated version of MX and I'm getting an unhandled exception message about the time when it would be uploading my data to the server. It's possible I don't have all the configurations set properly though I did try follow the instructions. Perhaps related is there's rout...

Re: Not getting data from VP2 with MX
Ok, looks like I'm in business. COM3 was the correct port and it was listed in the Device Manager with the Silicon Labs label. A couple additional questions if I may: I have a web site that I have always uploaded my web files to (hosted by Godaddy). The log file shows that the json files are uploadi...

Re: Not getting data from VP2 with MX
It looks like I've corrected the errors in dayfile.txt as I'm not seeing those errors anymore in the log. However, I'm still seeing messages about VP not being woken: 2021-10-09 16:03:58.837 WakeVP: Starting 2021-10-09 16:03:58.837 WakeVP: Sending wake-up newline (1/4) 2021-10-09 16:03:59.587 Realti...

Re: Not getting data from VP2 with MX
Thanks for the tips. I changed the newer entries in dayfile.txt that had the newer format so they now match the older ones. I didn't see any bad entries in the monthly file so maybe I wasn't looking in the right file. Which one(s) were you referring to? I'm using a genuine USB Davis datalogger for s...

Re: New PC - How to copy in previous configurations
Here they are with the dayfile.txt. Thanks for helping. The logs are indicating an issue with the date format, which is something someone earlier had suggested modifying in Windows. I've tried doing this but I guess I'm not getting it to match. This is a brand new PC built in the US just like my old...
