Re: spam

I am going to report this to phpBB as someone has found a way of hacking an existing account and adding Spam. It was I who reported it. Over at our flight sim site we found existing members had had their account broken into because of a silly password. “Password” or something similar. When spam is ...

Re: spam

I’m a moderator on a flight sim forum and we’ve had many spam emails relating to dating sites. The poster is immediately banned and the posts remain hidden.

I’ve seen similar posts across other flight sim sites including Lockheed-Martin. These sad people are a blight on society.

Re: April 2024 - meant to be my driest month of the year!

Watching the Met Office Deep Dives on YT this afternoon this wet weather seems to be down to Sudden Stratospheric Warming. Temps over the North Pole are now cooling and El Niño is also coming to an end. Signs are reasonable that high pressure will build next week. David, I thought it was bad here bu...

April 2024 - meant to be my driest month of the year!

Over 15 years of recording weather April has been the driest month by a long way. But this year we're in day 9 and I've not had a dry day yet. Low after low being transported across the UK like we're a magnet for them. 2.06" and counting which is 107% of that expected. And this year's ra...

Re: Solar eclipse April 8, 2024

The quality of coverage on Sky and CNN is abysmal. Not one person mentioned the diamond ring effect. The TV camera light in Indianapolis remained on so destroyed the effect of totality.

The producers haven’t got a bloody clue! :(

Re: Solar eclipse April 8, 2024

Paul, if your camera has video capability set it up to record the drop in light. It will be dramatic. The TV coverage is useless. No shots of the ground as the shadow approached.

Re: Solar eclipse April 8, 2024

Clear skies for eastern Canada! Enjoy the experience Paul. I observed the long total eclipse of 30 June 1973 onboard a ship moored off Mauritania. Over 6 mins of totality. You’ll remember it for the rest of your lives. :D

Re: Need help adjusting crazy yearly rainfall totals

[except Cumulus1 will not run with WLL or the Cloud services ;) Enjoy, Paul I have no desire for either Paul. I investigated WLL last year but the migration process seemed a nightmare. My website does me and all my visitors fine. Bear in mind I also load my dayfile.txt into an Access database so ca...

Re: Need help adjusting crazy yearly rainfall totals

So to correct the data shown in mobile app, you would need to modify the data on weatherlink. But as @PaulMy stated few messages earlier, there is not known way to edit that data. Of course you could try to contact Davis support if they can help. If true that’s appalling. It’s like Davis have decid...

Re: **NEW** Cumulus Weather Topsites 2013 - Please Join.

And so they should, it's free but has to be updated every 3 months. They didn't do that for me though, they were charging me £30 a year until I did some digging. Given I didn’t ask for it I’d expect it to continue until my next payment is due. I did ask them to confirm they were happy with ftp uplo...

I’ve manually typed https://cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk and it returned my home page so I think you’re right Mark. HostPresto appear to have placed my site on a secure address. Good for them. Saved me some dough! :D
