Re: Perseids Meteor Shower 2013
We were out in the garden at about 5pm yesterday (Monday 12th) and heard something ripping through the air - far to fast for a bird - it sounded a bit like a firework rocket - could it have been a meteor ??? It wasn't till I saw this thread that it made me wonder though it crossed my mind at the tim...

Re: Question
Hi
I would suspect the spring contacts in the transmitter RJ socket - either gone flat or corroded

Re: Hydreon RG-11 results
Hi All I thought it had gone quiet on the RG11 front but it seems I'm not the only on still playing with the things. So here are my results from September. The manual site RG11 is still modified with the funnel and an extra tipping bucket has been added. A very well made mini weather station from Li...

Hi Steve I wanted to backdate the values for the RG11 record. I opened the sep12log.txt with excel - recalculated the rg11 values and made sure that all the decimal places were correct for all the columns and saved the result as a csv file. Then renamed it to txt. Although it looks identical to a ba...

Wind Turbines
Hi With the Feed-In Tariff producers of wind turbine power receive a payment subsidised by us all - it would seem fair to me that on the occasions that they are not producing and are using power from the grid that they should pay for that power at the same cost as the subsidised income they receive....

Re: Manual Entry
Thanks Steve
On reflection I think you're right - at the moment I'm running three different buckets, two RG11's and a manual gauge so it makes sense to look at them outside Cumulus.
Regards

Re: Manual Entry
Hi Steve
I was thinking more of havng the manual entry as a separate item through Cumulus so the original sensor values could be compared.
But as an interim measure if it was added to the end of the dayfile would Cumulus ignore the extra entry.
Regards

Manual Entry
Hi Steve
Would there be any way of allowing a manual entry of daily rain (obviously from a manual gauge) - it would be a handy way of monitoring the various buckets etc. and setting up accurate correction factors.
Regards

Re: Hydreon RG-11 results
Hi Results for August - some very spurious RG11 readings on the Cumulus RG11 at the end of the month. My first though was birds perching on the unit but the select-a-graph shows the readings occur when there is rain - birds would be much more random. The two buckets performed quite well. The dummy r...

Re: Hydreon RG-11 results
Hi
Results for the first 12 days of August. Somewhat mixed - it's hard to draw any conclusion.
The manual site RG11 still has the funnel modification. The Cumulus attached RG11 has the bucket size set at 0.36 mm. Regards

Re: Hydreon RG-11 results
Hi
Results for July so far. Note the point that the manual site RG11 was modified. I was away for a few days so the manual gauge was only read when I returned so I have put in the 3 day total for the others. Regards

Re: Sunshine Recorder
Hi I'd like to correct Stuart on one small point - the B-L sunrecorder is not an alternative to the Davis system which, as I understand it, estimates sunshine from global radiation. It's also interesting that just after the third anniversay of the start of this topic it still attracts views (and con...
