24/7 Webcams & Automated Timelapse Video
I have set up 3 RPi V2 cameras (North, East & South) overlooking the plains (~6700 ft) in the Foothills west of Boulder, Colorado. The weather station, a Davis VP2 uses Cumulus of course. The Raspberry Pi's use Python Code I've written to adjust the exposure regardless of the time of day 24/7. A...

GRLevel3 Radar
I downloaded the trial version of GRLevel3 yesterday and set up the webpage, and it works fine for the most part. Instructions on the website are mighty sparse, so I thought I'd ask a few questions here. It "seems" as if the map view presented via the uploaded jpg's or png's mirror whateve...

Re: wxquakes.php problem
Thank you for pointing this out. It is a bit odd though. I keep a record of my updates (actually save the files). My last checks with the update database was on Jan 8, 2018 (lots of files), then April 18, 2018 (only did advforcast2.php), then yesterday the suite of quakes files, but not using the da...

Re: wxquakes.php problem
Well I solved the problem in a most (for me anyway) unexpected way. It turns out that only a message, and no map or list of earthquakes will appear if there are no quakes within a radius of 'x' miles or km as specified in the wxquakes.php file. In my case I had the radius set to 200 miles. We have f...

wxquakes.php problem
I seem to be having a run of bad luck. Previously had problems with this page because of outgoing access restrictions at my webhost, but removing that problem made evrything fine for the page. Now, months later, page displays no information or map, nor any errors either. It does not appear to be a u...

Re: Error on Home Page
Many thanks for the reference! It appears to be a US Navy problem again. Using the IP address also fails. I've contacted the webmaster there and have renamed the php file so it no longer attempts to load, causing the site to hang. Loads instantly again.

Error on Home Page
I updated the Saratoga Templates on 4/12/2018 and everything was working fine. Today I noticed the error below on the home page, so I thought I'd check again for updates. Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/www/boulderwx.com/get-USNO-sunmoon.php on line 360 Warning: Invalid arg...

Re: NOAA Weather Radio
After re-reading my post I want to clarify the solution. The problem arose with the Googlemaps API key within wxradio.php. It was apparently solved by putting it into settings.php as shown in the post.

Re: NOAA Weather Radio
I have been putting it after key= in single quotes within wxradio.php. That's where it has been from the start, and when it (used to) display the maps properly. There are actually two places to put the API key. I had inserted the key within wxradio.php file, where it seemed to work. However, at the ...

NOAA Weather Radio
I have been streaming NOAA Weather Radio via noaaweatherradio.org and have been using wxradio.php on my website: http://www.boulderwx.com. Ken's page displays the map and the location of the radio on a google api generated map. This has been working very well for about a month or more. In order to i...

Modifying Width
Although I'm very pleased with the display of my website based on the Saratoga templates (boulderwx.com) I've made some mods to the site and often find the width of the flyout menu a bit too narrow to include an understandable menu name or link description. For Example "World Lightning Map"...

Re: Weather34 Webcam Problem
Thanks very much for the explanation. I have a much better understanding now of how the code influences behaviour. It took some experimentation with the image dimensions to get it to fit.

Re: Weather34 Webcam Problem
I corrected the webcamsmall.php & cam.php code to add the alt="weathercam" class="webcam" within the src script boundary. This appears to "force" the image into a 16:9 format instead of its native 4:3 format, thereby stretching the image horizontally. Whereas, if I ...
