Re: daily, monthly, yearly totals.
Thanks. "I'm not sure why you would expect the values in the log files to change based on the range of dates you are viewing? The values are fixed to what is in the file(s)" Ah,well it's probably because I read the heading 'rainfall so far' and came to the (erroneous) conclusion it meant r...

daily, monthly, yearly totals.
Probably an example of brain fade on my part, but: Having a weather station I'm often asked how much rain have we had this month/year etc. If I go to the data log viewer and select a date range, then go to the last entry (numbered in the thousands) and view the column labelled 'rainfall so far' then...

Re: edge browser android
Edge 118.0.2088.58 - so that's a bit odd. Displays fine with Firefox (Android).

WS69 Repair.
I have just successfully repaired my 3 year old Ecowitt WS69 Sensor array. My brother had the same fault about a year ago and mine went a month ago so that's a 100% failure rate on a sample of 2. ;) So I'm guessing this info may come in useful to others running the same kit. The symptoms are no comm...

Re: Raspberry Pi image on old Pi?
Hurrah! Despite my last post about the Mono install hanging at 99% and giving up I have been successful!! After leaving the Pi overnight and still seeing 99% complete I just pulled the plug on it. On restarting it seemed fine. I ran the 'mono -V' command and it showed that 6.12 had actually been ins...

Re: Raspberry Pi image on old Pi?
Thanks for the comments. I've tried every which way to get Mono to install on my Pi VerB Rev2. I've tried latest Raspbian release then Mono (as per the commands on the Mono website). That gets to the point where it tells you how much space is needed Y/n. If you type Y return it simply quits to the r...

Re: Raspberry Pi image on old Pi?
Thanks Mark. I have uninstalled Mono and have tried to re-install but the installation just hangs. Searching around on the net there seems to be something of an issue with newer versions of Mono and ARMv6 Pies (and that includes the Pi Zero). There are no work arounds that I can find. I have no idea...

Raspberry Pi image on old Pi?
Hi, I've just followed the really excellent, step by step instructions on the Wiki for using the pre-built raspberry pi image to install MX. Sadly, although the Pi boots and I can access it through Putty Cumulus doesn't appear to be running. Could the problem be the low spec of my Pi? Its a Model B ...

Re: lightning sensor not reporting time and date
Interesting. I thought TV remotes were Infrared whereas lightning detectors look around the 300khz radio band? But if it has worked for you I'll give it a go. (I've tried various piezoelectric fire lighters with no luck.)

Re: lightning sensor not reporting time and date
OK. Thanks Mark. Firmware has been updated at some point but I don't think recently otherwise I'd remember. It's on V1.6.8. I seem to remember it's a push update? So I think it's current. It's impossible to test as I've never been able to find a way to trigger the detector other than with a genuine ...

Re: lightning sensor not reporting time and date
Mark, yes the lightning was this morning. Ecowitt.net has the time and date logged.

Re: lightning sensor not reporting time and date
Thanks Mark, It's configured as an Ecowitt GW1000.

If nothing else this alerted me to the fact I'd left FTP logging running - 200mb log file!
